Proverbs 11 Prayers and Confessions

Lord, you declare that false balances and unjust weights are an abomination to yourself. So, I solemnly commit to do business without cheating or deceiving others, or representing things to be other than the way they really are. I pray you will find delight in the way I do business, in Jesus' name, Amen. (vs 1)

Lord, open my eyes to the value of lowliness, for "with the lowly is wisdom". Give me this wisdom. At the same time, I reject the coming of pride, which brings shame. (vs 2) read more »

How Curses Come and Demons Enter

Curses take root in the same way that demons enter. It may be that in the case of some curses, demons don't go inside the person, but somehow attach themselves to them anyway. Prayers for Joy

Lord Jesus, keep me abiding in you so that your joy may be in me and that my joy may be full. (John 15:11)

Lord, turn my sorrow into joy. (John 16:20)

Lord, cause my heart to rejoice, and my joy let no one take from me. (John 16:22)

If you think there is a problem with God, you are just showing your ignorance. He Himself dwells in unapproachable light, He is mighty, glorious, perfect in beauty and splendour, ominiscient - no one and nothing can compare to Him. He is the only One qualified to be proud. And yet, He is humble. read more »

Weapons of Our Warfare

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought
into captivity to the obedience of Christ". (2 Corinthians 10:4,5)

The apostle Paul here states that we are engaged in a warfare, and that we have weapons with which we must fight. As Paul states in Ephesians 6:12, our fight is not with flesh and blood, with people, but with the host of demons that work to defile, destroy, harrass, tempt and enslave mankind. read more »

The Nature of God

The Issue of Worship

In the previous lesson we saw that the Bible is God’s word to us and speaks with the authority of God to us regarding many things. One of the most important revelations we can receive from the Bible is the character of God. The Bible tells us what God is like - his attributes, his ways in dealing with mankind, his heart. Our traditions, preconceptions, experiences and reasonings do not always tell us the truth about God. The Bible does however.  read more »
