The Spiritual Realm

Demons and Fallen Angels

Demons are disembodied spirits that are at work virtually everywhere in the world today. They are evil in nature, and are obedient to Satan, their ruler. In the Bible they are also known as "evil spirits" or "unclean spirits".

There are a number of theories about their origin, but the Bible doesn't make it absolutely clear. Many believe they are fallen angels who fell when Satan, formerly Lucifer, rebelled against the Lord God in heaven. This theory has the problem that demons seem to be earth-bound spirits that walk, and cannot fly, unlike angels. read more »

Who is Satan?

Satan (otherwise known as the devil) is the original enemy of God who rebelled at the foundation of the earth. He is the one ultimately responsible for all the deception that exists in this world. He has deceived many to disbelieve in his existence, though both serious Christians and well-informed devil worshippers both know he exists. Demon Activities

1. They tempt people to sin, by putting various kinds of
imaginations in the minds of men and women and speaking words of deceit (Genesis 3:1-6). Satan even tempted Jesus, and Jesus revealed to us the way to overcome temptation by using the Word of God (see Matthew 4:1-10).

2. They deceive (2 Corinthians 11:14). They especially lie about God, blaming all the evil on God. Many religious leaders are deceived by Satan. As long as we remain deceived on some important point, Satan's demons have something they can work with. They can return to it, like rats return to rubbish.

The Devil

WE BELIEVE in the personality of the devil who, by his influence, brought about the downfall of man, and now seeks to destroy the faith of every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ – Gen 3:1-15; Matt 4:1-11; Luke 4:1-13; James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8; John 13:2.

Introduction

Apart from the Godhead, no other personality is given as much coverage in the Bible as the devil. Whereas it is important not to give the devil undue prominence, the Scriptures also tell us not to be “ignorant of his devices” (2 Cor 2:11).
