Response to Recent Abuse by Spammers

Dear friends, some spammers, probably with automated bots, have been registering and posting all kinds of irrelevant garbage which has been coming up on my recent content column on the pages of the website.

Because I don't have another moderator to remove this content, I have for now decided that not everyone will be able to get their blogs and posts on the "Recent Content" column.

For now, only my own posts, and Timothy Luke's are appearing there. But if you would like yours to appear there, please send me a PM and I will evaluate it.

We need to come up with a solution that doesn't discourage people from participating but at the same time doesn't encourage spammers.

I could implement a moderation system, and manually upgrade certain users to a trusted status. That is probably the way I will go. But it might discourage people from posting at first.

Any suggestions?
