PRAYERS TO REFRAIN FROM EVIL SPEAKING

Lord, you said, "What comes out of his mouth, this defiles a man." (Matt. 15:11)

Lord, I pray that I treasure good things, not evil things, in my heart, and that out of the abundance the good things in my heart my mouth speaks. (Mt. 12:35)

I pray that I speak evil of no man. (Titus 3:2)

DON'T SLANDER

Lord, you told me not to go up and down as a talebearer, gossip or slanderer among the people. (Lev. 19:16)

I pray I will never raise a false report. In fact, help me to never pass one on. (Ex. 23:14)

I thank you that you help me, Lord, to put away all evil speaking, that I speak no evil of a brother, and lay aside all evil speakings. (Eph. 4:31; James 4:11; 1 Peter 2:1)

Help me Lord, where necessary, to debate my cause with my neighour himself, and never to tell the secret to another first. (Pr. 25:9)

Lord, you said that he who utters a slander is a fool. I don't want to be a fool in your eyes. (Pr. 10:18)
