I realised last night while i was reading an article about doors that people have that allow demons to come in through. So i thought hmmm where are my doors. I have actually invited satan into my life on many occasions hoping that he could give me something that i fely god would not.Unfortunatly it was working.
So i would like for any readers to prey that any bonds that I have to satan or demons be broken through god
Thank you so much

Hi Saints ,
In most Evangelical / Pentecostal Services we have the preacher laying hands on
people and praying over them.
After that they fall backwards , .....as if unconscious.
What really happens ?
Is it Biblical ?
How did it originate ?
This practice is not mentioned is the New Testament.
Would someone shed some light on it ?

The actual term slain in the spirit is not found in the bible. The bible does not teach it as a practice or doctrine. God’s power is tangible and people respond to it in different ways. Not everyone falls or shakes, when the power of God is present. Sometimes I believe an over emphasis is place on this. I am not sure what exactly happens when people fall under the power as I have never had this experience. I have had people fall when praying for them and to be honest God could heal or deliver a person whether the person falls or not. I have also seen it happen when no one is laying hands, we are all worshiping and some people just begin to fall down. Should one desire to experience it? My counsel is NO, We should seek and desire the Lord and not an experience, if the Lord chooses to give us an experience then we should be open to it. (We can desire spiritual gifts though) You would sense if it’s of the lord as you have God’s spirit. There are some scriptures that indicate people falling under the power.
John18v4-6
4Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
5They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
1 Kings8v10-11
10And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,
11So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD
Thanks for that infomation , Courage.
I am not particular about the phrase,"Slain in the Spirit'.
My main concern was the act of 'falling backward' after a preacher places
his hands on a person's head ,........and then the person falls backward to the ground.
Sometimes ,.....the preacher does not lay hands , ........the preacher
just moves in hand in the air ,....and the person falls ,......
There are cases in which the preacher does not even move his or her
hands ,.......just prays ,......and the person just drops backward to the ground.
How & why does it happen ?
Where did the practice originate ?
Any instances in the Old Testament of such falling / slaying ?

Hi Hopeful
Not sure from your post whether you are born again, but i think you are. One thing that stops many from receiving deliverance or anything from the Lord is condemnation. Stop condemning yourself for past mistakes. There might be a battle for your deliverance and freedom in Christ as the enemy does not always give up easily. However you need to remember that God love is unconditional and even in your current state He still loves you. Draw close to him and he will draw close to you. Jesus blood guarantees victory over our past and our sins, no matter how bad
David, I appreciate your encouragement! Thanks for sharing it here. I look forward to when you are able to join the prayer group with your mic working!
Hopeful. There is much reason to hope! May I ask if you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? How long have you been saved? Just wanting to know so I can better address this. Our salvation is the foundation for our deliverance many times, though our deliverance may preceed our salvation at others...
Hi Bro The Hopeful ,
If we pray for you , it would help.
But , a better option is for you to go and attend a good Bible based Evangelical
service ,.....wherever you live ,.......let the preacher lay hands over you ,.....
and I am 200% sure ,....you will soon receive deliverance from above.
I am pretty pretty sure that it will happen.
Notheless ,....I am praying right now for your deliverance.
