How To Overcome Sin

Sin is a "me-first" self-pleasing attitude of heart which denies God's authority to direct our lives and our world. Sinful actions such as theft, adultery and blasphemy spring from a heart corrupted by the power of sin. There are two root sins - one is pride and the other unbelief. Pride is evidenced by an attitude which is demanding and arrogant, denies its need for God, is unteachable, impatient, overly critical of others and hard hearted. How easy it is for any one of us to be infected with pride without realising it! Unbelief also, is the root of much sin. If we really believed in God's goodness, wisdom and love, what motive would remain for not doing things God's way? These attitudes hurt the heart of God and often cause insensitivity to others as well, resulting in us saying and doing things that were better not said or done.

Sin always takes more than it gives. Whatever you gain by compromise you will eventually lose. Sin is the deadly human condition which opens the door to Satanic oppression and God's displeasure and judgment. Sin definitely creates a barrier to true communication with God. The wages of sin is death. Primarily, this refers to spiritual death. God loves us and wants us to overcome sin. He knows we are powerless to do it by ourselves, and for this reason has given us divine resources in our warfare against evil and sin.

Every attempt to overcome sin by willpower, resolutions and self-discipline alone WILL fail. No attempts to overcome sin by observing laws and rules, however strict, will ever work. But the Bible says, "Walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfil the lusts of the flesh" (Galatians 5:17). That means, be governed by impulses coming from the Holy Spirit in your human spirit, and you won't be ruled by the natural thinking and desires that draw people away from holy living.

Romans 6 and Romans 8 are probably the most important passages of Scripture relating to this subject. I'd like to take some verses from them and make some comments.

"Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit" (Romans 8:5). What does your mind dwell on? What do you choose to set it on? To overcome sin you must have a deliberate policy to set your mind on the "Things of the Spirit". If that is not your policy, make it so today. The things of the Spirit include the presence of God, the love of God, the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit (which involve supernatural communication with God), the Word of God and their application to life. The things of the flesh which we are not to set our mind on include any kind of lust, selfish ambition, greed, envy, jealousy, hatred, bitterness or prideful thought. We can't avoid these thoughts by seeking to avoid them. We must instead actively seek to set our minds on the things of the Spirit. To illustrate this point, try hard to avoid thinking of the word "frog" for the next 5 minutes. You'll find it harder now, but it would have been so easy had you not even tried.

"To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace" (Romans 8:6). Your mind is influenced - either by the spirit of the world, or by the Spirit of God. God wants us to renew our minds through meditation on the Word of God. These means getting into each phrase very deeply, by much repetition, pondering and muttering. This has far greater power than a superficial but wide reading (which also has its place of course).

The peace and happiness we are wanting does not come through the satisfaction of the lusts Satan invites us to go after. Rather it comes by focussing our hearts and minds on Jesus and the things of the Spirit. This is really surprising to many when they first try it. "Taste and see that the Lord is good", said the Psalmist.

Romans 6 declares that our legal position as believers baptised into Christ is one of deadness to sin and sensitivity to God. Please read this chapter first to understand what follows. Once we are born again, we are not obligated to serve fleshly desires. Its still possible, but it can be avoided. One way to start is actually by considering that you are "dead to sin" even before you have any evidence of the fact. You may have just sinned in some horrible way, but you can consider yourself dead to sin "by faith". Its amazing how our experience is molded by what we believe. But the order in the life of faith is always, "believe first, then you will experience it after that". God wants us to identify with Jesus Christ in his death, burial and resurrection. This means, believe that the old you was crucified with Christ. Believe that old man was buried, and that you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) ready to walk in resurrection power. Now set your mind on the things of the Spirit diligently, and see how the Spirit of God moves in your life and gives you a new focus and a new power to live for God, in purity and righteousness.

Before you can do all this you must believe that God has forgiven you of your sins. If you are not sure of this, I invite you to read my message on the Good News, and pray a prayer of dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I plan to update this page because obviously I've only begun to touch this vitally important subject.

Please also see this teaching I wrote on sanctification and holiness.

God bless you,

Michael

To Anyone

Is anybody having trouble with this web site? The format is all out of wack and there is a warning sign under the title "How to Overcome Sin".

Yes, it was down here for me

Yes, it was down here for me for a while. Glad it is up again!

SITE WAS DOWN

We had a hardware failure last night and for a while I thought I had lost a lot of data and would be working really hard to patch things up. Thankfully a lot of the data was recoverable.

About 10 days worth of data and users were lost, might be recoverable if I get the time and wisdom to do it. But I wanted to get the site up.

There are some error messages that come up from time to time that we may have to work through.

Please pray: I can't say this was due to satanic attack but it is always possible - the site had lost a lot of traffic and then this happened!

Michael

Second Hardware Failure

I request your prayers for this ministry. I spent a very stressful 8 hours getting a new server and getting incomplete backups restored today.

The server I had fried two hard disks.

Thankfully I had made another backup after the last crash.

It hasn't been easy but God is giving grace.

no the site isn't,

its not blind, the site may be of line, but its not sad and depressed, i haven't seen any one feed it prosaic, zoloft, cymbalta, effexor, lexapro desaryl or any other anti depressant. I don't think we had a virus, but we did have some form of crash, so maybe it helps us see an area. Where we were a bit weak and thank you Father, for you show us our weaknesses. So we can become stronger. Amen. So who besides myself was going through no Christian -Faith.com withdrawals. I am a Holy Spirit Junkie, Well you could also say im just hooked on Jesus! So if you are going to be addicted who better to be addicted to. Honestly we need to get more friends and family to check us out Amen, I would love that, thanks for not being off line for too long. Love your sis in Christ. Jesus, Annette

Sinning again & again

Dear bro & sis, I'm new to this site, and i'm struggling with sexual sins a lot.. I got vexed in my mind.. I'm falling into same sin again & again. I'm so sick & tired of this defeated Christian Life. I don't know what to do.. I'd welcome ur guidance and prayers.. Thank you...

To nitu from Sunrise

I would be interested in hearing your testimony of how Jesus saved you from your sins. Sometimes it is good to look back and think about that. I would also be interested in knowing what type of church you belong to. I did not realize that you were a man from India, until I looked at your profile.

If you like to read, there is

If you like to read, there is a book called Hooked: New Science on How Casual Sex Is Affecting Our Children, written by Joe S. McIlhaney Jr. and Freda McKissic Bush. Both are obstetrician-gynecologists who have served on the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. I found out about this book through the American Family Association’s AFA Journal. An article was written on them and their book called Bonded in the Brain by Ed Vitagliano. You could probably go on line to www.afajournal.org. The date for the publication in which this article is found is October 2010. The page number is 14.

Here is part of that article that you might find encouraging:

“The good news is that the Bible calls us to spiritually influence the body—and, we must assume, even the brain. What Scripture calls ‘crucifying the flesh’ or ‘denying self’ (Gal. 5:24; Rom. 8:13; Matt. 16:24) is the restraint of actions that displease God. In turn, this weakens the synapses [pathway to the brain] governing say, sexual experimentation, and it strengthens the synapses that allow more self-discipline.”

What this says to me is that the more you resist sexual encounters, the stronger you will become to keep resisting. You cannot give in one single time without starting the cycle again. It’s kind of like a person who is an alcoholic. If they ever take one drink, thinking one drink want hurt, he or she is in for trouble. It is because one drink calls for another and then another. The next thing you know that person is drunk. This shows that the brain has cravings, but those cravings can be overcome with the help of the Lord.

There was a song I was taught as a child in Sunbeams and it goes like this:

Be careful little mouth what you say
Be careful little mouth what you say
For the Father up above is looking down in love
So, be careful little mouth what you say.

Be careful little eyes what you see
Be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
So, be careful little eyes what you see.

Be careful little ears what you hear
Be careful little ears what you hear
For the Father up above is looking down in love
So be careful little ears what you hear.

Be careful little hands what you do
Be careful little hands what you do
For the Father up above is looking down in love
So, be careful little hands what you do

Be careful little feet where you go
Be careful little feet where you go
For the Father up above is looking down in love
So, be careful little feet where you go.

This song has some pretty good advice in it. It certainly impressed me, because I remember it to this day. You do need to be careful not to put yourself in situations that could cause you to fail.

thank u bro...

Thank u sunrise for sharing that beautiful song... well i'm a converted Christian from a hindu background.....

Sick & tired of my continuous failures

Hey Bro I'm sick & tired of my continuous failures and i feel like just giving up... I don't seem to have any hope.. I'm almost done, hit at the rock bottom. It feels like i can't go anymore... What shall i do.....?

To Nitu - A Lesson from the Oak tree !!

I want to share few things which i learnt in my quiet time.

In winter some oak trees retain their crisp, dry leaves long after the maples, the elms, and the walnuts become bare skeletons. Even the strong winter winds and the early spring rains do not completely strip the oak branches of all their old leaves. But as the springtime progresses warmer winds blow and something wonderful begins to happen....
Tiny buds start appearing at the tips of the twigs, and the dried remnants of the preceding season fall off...NEW LIFE replaces the Old.

At times, old habits cling to our lives with the same tenacity as those old oak leaves.Even the winds of adversity do not remove all the lifeless leftovers of our fallen human nature. But Christ, who dwells in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, is at work. His life within us continually seeks to push off the old habits-----renewing us when we confess our sins, steadying us when we falter, and strengthening us to do His Will. When every effort to cast off an old sinful habit ends in failure, remember the old mighty oak. Thank God for His Spirit who lives in us. Keep saying yes to His gentle urging to be kind, loving, compassionate, honest and faithful. Those "lifeless old leaves" will eventually drop off.-------Dennis De Haan.
Galatians 5:16 - "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."
When stubborn sins tenaciously, Hold to their former place, We must rely on Jesus' strength and His unfailing grace.----Sper

Thank U childofJesus

Hey bro, I really thank u so much for encouraging me with the word of God.. And kindly hold me in your prayers... And thank u so much again.. And i would welcome your encouraging words....

To Nitu: Cupcake Self Discipline !!

I'm glad to hear that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Personal Saviour, even though you come from hindu background...I remember a junior (in college) who was from hindu background...she used to come to me to clear some doubts in studies however she will also ask questions about Jesus..She loved to hear about Jesus and i loved to tell about Him..Slowly the Living Lord started revealing to her and she gave her heart to Jesus....
Dear Nitu, you have made a wonderful decision to accept Jesus as your Lord..This same God will release you from the bondages you are struggling with..Trust in His Mighty Power...

An old adage says : "Next time you want a cupcake, eat a carrot". The saying is good advice for dieters, but those who framed it may have had all of us in mind. By disciplining our desires when no moral principle is at stake, we prepare ourselves for those moments when we face temptations to sin. This kind of discipline is what St. Paul referred to when he used the term self - controlled in his list of qualifications for church leadership (Titus 1:8 ). We need this reminder today. Many people think that they can live immorally now and suddenly stop when they want to. Because they do not consider the addictive power of sin, they find that living up to their good intentions is far more difficult than they had anticipated. Proverbs 25:28 says "Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls". If we lack self-control we are as defenseless as a city with broken-down walls. Consistent self discipline will build up our spiritual defense system against the forces of evil. When we discipline ourselves to keep our ordinary desires under control, we make a habit of virtuous living and practice the reality of Paul's words in Romans 6:18 - " Having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness" -------Herb Vander Lugt.

To gain self-control, give Christ control.

To Nitu : Frog and Toad

Hi Nitu !!
Yes brother, i'm from India, Mumbai. Where are you located ?

Today, i want to share from Isaiah chap 61 verses 10-11. It says "As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness.....spring forth."
One of the children's book is "Frog and Toad together" by Arnold Lobel, in which Frog had a garden that Toad admired, and he wanted one too. So Frog told him : "It is very nice, but it was hard work." When he gave Toad some flower seeds, Toad ran home and planted them. "Now seeds", said Toad, "start growing". He tried very hard to make his garden grow. He shouted at the seeds, read them long stories, and sang songs to them------but they did'nt grow. "What shall I do ? " cried Toad. "Leave them alone", Frog said. "Let the sun shine on them, let the rain fall on them. Soon your seeds will start to grow." Then one day, little green plants appeared. "At last," shouted Toad, "my seeds have stopped being afraid to grow ! But you were right, Frog. It was very hard work."
So many people think it's very hard to grow in righteousness. We must spend time in reading the Word, praying and cultivating our faith by being with other believers. But our progress in holiness is still dependent on God. As He shines His face upon us and rains His love into our lives, we will grow. Then righteousness will begin to "spring forth". Don't be discouraged if growth comes slowly. Soon you will have a garden.-----------David Roper.

To Nitu : The Eraser of Confession !!

Hi !
I'm glad to hear that you are encouraged in your daily walk. I have an email-id but i don't use it much..However, on this site, on your right hand side you have an option of "Write new message". In 'To' field you have to write 'childofjesus'. Its just like writing emails.

Thank you Michael for this wonderful site.

Today, i would like to share with you from 1 john 1:5-10 which says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins."

From the time that Joseph Dixon (1827-1869) began producing the pencil during the US Civil War, the only substantial change in its design has been the addition of an eraser. Consider for a moment this unique little writing stick. At one end is a hard black point and at the other a small rubber tip. This simple instrument can be used to scribble, sketch, compute complicated formulas, or compose lofty poetry. But it can also quickly correct an error, change a figure or start all over again.
Each day the Christian inscribes words and deeds on the record of his personal history. But as he reflects upon what he's said and done, he becomes aware that some of what's been written is not of the quality that will please the Savior. He remembers attitude and actions that should never be part of a believer's life. Yet these sins are forgiven and fellowship with God is restored through honest confession and repentance.
In John's first epistle, he told us how to walk uprightly and enjoy fellowship with Christ and with one another. But John was realist, knowing that some of the pages of our composition would be marked by daily flaws and failures. That's why 1 John 1:9 is such a blessed promise. It tells us we can use eraser of confession and start over.---------Dennis De Haan.

"We're thankful Lord, that when we fall, we can begin anew, If humbly we confess our sin, then turn and follow You."-----Sper

Confession is a soil in which Forgiveness flourishes.

To childofjesus about Our Daily Bread

My church gives our congregation "Our Daily Bread " for free every three months. It is a small paperback copy. It might be good for nitu to get "Our Daily Bread" for himself.

Thank u

Thank u so much for those encouraging articles, that really helps me a lot when i'm down.. And thanks a lot for ur prayers, sunrise & childofJesus..... Since i'm new to this, I'm learning it slowly..... And how to get that copy of Daily Bread. And sunrise are u from India...?

Hi Nitu !!

How are you doing ?

Jesus said to His disciples in John 15:5 " Without Me you can do nothing." The truth is that we live in a web of dependence, at the center of which is God, in whom all things hold together. Norwegian theologian Ole Heslesby settled on the single word 'helplessness' as the best summary of the heart attitude that God accepts as prayer. He said, "Only he who is helpless can truly pray". Most parents feel a pang when the child outgrows dependence, even while knowing the growth to be healthy and normal. With God, the rules change. We never outgrow dependence, and to the extent we think we do, we delude ourselves. Prayer is our declaration of dependence upon the Lord. -----Philip Yancey

Give Him each perplexing problem, All your needs to Him make known; Bring to Him your daily burdens----Never carry them alone ! -----Adams

Here is the Internet address on the "Our Daily Bread" booklet: www.rbc.org. RBC stands for Radio Bible Class.

In answer to your question, I am from the United States of America. Isn't it the neatest thing to be able to communicate with people from so far away?

Hi Nitu !!

You need to fix your eyes upon Jesus..I understand that sometimes the guilt of sins hinders us in reaching our Loving God...So focus on the Savior, not on your sin. Think about what He has done, not what you have done. Believe that all your sins are forgiven..Start a New Life in Jesus !! Meditate on the Word of God (Bible), listen to testimonies, listen to worship songs and sing along...There is beautiful song "Lay it down" by Nicole Nordeman on youtube..I request you to listen to it.

To nitu : Sin Virus !

Computer viruses are created by bright people who live with a darkness in their lives to make other people miserable..What's worse is that when we permit the virus to enter our computer by opening what we think is an innocent e-mail.
Sin resembles a computer virus. Satan wants to destroy Christians by infecting their minds. But the apostle Paul urged the believers to bring "every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" ( 2 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 5).
Just as we let a virus into our computers, we also let darkness into our lives when we open ourselves unthinkingly to the godless messages that permeate our culture. We let down our guard and hardly notice the sin that infects our minds. But by confessing our sin, reading God's Word, and praying, we build a firewall, or barrier, to safeguard our minds. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we'll keep our minds from becoming unwitting hosts for unwanted guests.------Haddon Robinson.

Let us pray
"Heavenly Father, I'm often careless with what I allow to enter my mind. By your Spirit, please help me to guard my mind today. By your grace, keep me from situations that wage war on my thought life. In Jesus Name, I pray....Amen.

To Nitu

Bible says in James 4:7 "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
What keeps you falling into sin ? Avoid those situations..Avoid to be alone..See Nitu, we serve a Real Mighty God...Believe in Him..He is Able to release you from this condition...do you have any good church ? I want you to spend time in reading the Word of God, start from reading the Gospel...When temptation comes...you need to RESIST IT..Ask Lord to overcome those temptations everytime they come in your mind. Don't give up..Jesus will free you...Remember Nitu, first you have to 'Resist it ', the Lord will give you a heart to dislike that sin and replace it with likeness for Healthy Life in Him.

under grace, not under law, no condemnation!

I'm not sure I read everyone's reply, but I don't see anyone using God's word to overcome sin?

Romans 6:14 (NKJV)
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Clearly, the opposite of this verse says, many people are under the dominion of sin because they are under law. They try to meet God's standards by their own efforts, so they sin further. We are not under law but under grace! Receive God's power and forgiveness and be empowered to sin no more!

1 Corinthians 15:56 (NKJV)
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.

Once again, don't depend on your own efforts (law) to overcome sin, it only strengthens sin!

John 8:11 (NKJV)
11 She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and[a] sin no more.”

Lastly, Jesus gave the answer subtly! Receive the gift of no condemnation, and be empowered to sin no more!

Brothers and Sisters, in short, when you find yourself in the cycle of continuous sinning even though you hate it, identify that you are under law! do not put yourself under law! do not strengthen sin with it! and receive the gift of no condemnation from Jesus! All our sins have been paid by the blood of Christ!

For sin shall not have

For sin shall not have dominion over you,

This is an exhortation, not a contrasting statement to what follows....

Not able to avoid sin

Dear brothers and sister,

I'm not able to avoid the sin which I'm continuously doing, beginning i felt very shame on myself and asked sorry to Jesus, and i felt he forgive me, after a month later i did the same again.., this continued till now from past 7 years, now I'm ashamed to ask sorry to Jesus, what he'll think about me, " this girl asks sorry and does the same again " doesn't he? now there is no value to my sorry/apologies to Jesus, i feel like to kill myself, i don't want to live like this in this world, i wish to live like a good girl to my parents, to world, and to My Jesus. Please help me out to come out of this sin, that i never again so it in my life.

Please suggest me out to get out of it, and pray for me.

Thank you all in advance,

Ms. Nashme

Nashme, God is faithful...ask him.

It doesn't matter what you've done or how long. God will forgive you and if you are saved he has already. The feeling of condemnation comes from the Devil, Gods conviction is not the same. You seem to feel condemned. Well that isn't GOD. It could be your mind or the devil, but it isn't God. Ask God to show you the truth of his Grace and how it's his Grace that keeps us from sin and NOT the law. Ask God for a revelation of that Grace and He WILL give it to you. Now you need to find someone who talk to about this. A counselor or someone you can 100% TRUST. Do not throw your pearls before swine and though what you may be doing doesn't seem like pearls, it's not, but your TRUST is what you are sharing and that is more precious than any pearl. God is faithful...ask him.

to you Nashme yes all will ok

always jesus is forgive to you. Is love to
christian again to forgive hurt sin to many time

Not just a mans problem

I feel hopeless and out of grace. I struggle with the same sin over and over. I love God. I believe it's wrong and I know if the Lord returned during this I would be lost!!! I cannot stop! I tell my husband when it happens and he is so patient but I cantvhelp but think God can't be so nice about ir. I hold myself back and I'm beginning to believe that I'm a reprobate. That I'm not really saved. Please pray for me. Please. I'm at the end of my rope. It's not just a mans problem!!!! But I feel like I'm the only woman in the world that struggles with this "mans sin"! Someone, anyone... Thats gone through this??? Please pray for me.

The answer is in the cross !

What you are struggling is not just yourself. Numerous christians are facing the same
struggle with sexual sin round the world just that they do not say it.

I was just like any of you and had reached a point of despair until one day God graciously
brought me to listen to a sermon by Pastor Zac Poonen - an unheard man of God.
He pointed out that the issue with many Christian is that we try to love God and His words
when we still love self and the world/pleasures of the world so much. He shared that we
can only move in one direction. Then again we find that we can't help but keep moving
towards the pleasures of sin. He then gave an illustration of a pig. A pig has a nature that
never desires to be clean. The laws of God are like chains pulling the pig but any slack
in the chain and the pig will return to its style. Just like the pig, our nature can never desire
to be holy but will always yearn for the pleasure of the flesh. Therefore no matter how hard we
try, we realise we will fail over and over again. We may abstain for few months but find ourselves
falling again. I once managed to abstain for abt 2 years and I fell all over again. I just can't be holy
because of my pig nature.

Thank you

This website has been a blessing to me :)

thank you so much...and prayer would be nice :)

Avoid the situation , and instead read the Bible or talk
to a Christian friend or take a long walk or come to this
web site and read some encouraging stuff ,........

Try sister , ....I am sure it will help.

God is a loving Father. He sees our sins basically as a soiled diaper. He knows the difference between a diaper and a baby! He came to save the baby and throw the dirty diapers away. God is not condemning you. You are already condemned because sin is your task master. God wants to set you free.

You probably have unloving thoughts about yourself, which drive many habitual sins. We feel bad about ourselves, we sin our pet sin to help ourselves feel better. We feel a temporary rush and then the condemnation jumps back in to make us feel guilty, ashamed, unworthy, and well.... what is just ONE more time?? and off we go again....

To break the cycle, I suggest you get a good look at who you are and what you are doing. Learn to separate the two. Your "WHO" is not your "DO". The devil tempts us, then accuses us when we fall. But note how he does the accusing. Instead of 'you DID this' and leaving it at that, he concludes, 'you ARE this..." He takes a behavior and makes it into our identity if we let him.

You sister, are a lovely daughter with a very poopy diaper! God knows it. I know it. Do YOU know it? Toss the diaper and learn not to soil your garments. God has good plans for you and He will give you the grace you need to overcome - but please, do not let the devil get in there and compound the problem.

I hope this helps.

i commit the same sin over and over again

I keep committing the same sin over and over again. I feel a temptation coming on and I try to keep myself from succumbing to the sin, but I always do. I don't feel the actual guilt and knowing of wrong doing until I've done the sin. Then I ask for forgiveness, but I think God is eventually going to stop forgiving me. I do try and keep my thoughts away from the sin and I always think I'm not going to do it again, but then I do. I guess what I'm looking for is an answer to if I can be renewed or "saved." And a prayer for me.
God bless,
Morgan.
P.s. I think what you're doing with you're site is very sweet and thoughtful. Thank you.

A Prayer for Morgan

"Father in heaven. We thank you that mercy triumphs over judgment. Thank you for letting us know that your mercies are new every morning. We so dearly need that. All of us are as sheep that have gone astray, every one to his own way. But you Father have sent your Son Jesus Christ into the world as the Great Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. You have seen our sin. You have seen our affliction. You have seen that Sin has had dominion over us. And, you have loved us and drawn us to yourself anyway. THANK YOU FATHER - THANK YOU!

"I pray for my sister Morgan that you would deliver her from the evil one, who has held her captive to this sin according to his will. It is time for my sister to arise and put off her polluted garments and walk in the robes of righteousness you have provided through faith in Jesus Christ. It is time for this daughters eyes to see the salvation of the Lord. It is time for you to heal this broken heart and set this captive free! Blessed be your name forever!

"Father, I pray that you would release Morgan from the power of this besetting sin. I pray that you would enable her to walk in the paths of righteousness. I pray that you would deliver her from the power of shame and condemnation and guilt that pull her down and say she is not worthy to escape. She IS WORTHY, because WORTHY is the LAMB who was slain for her sin, that she might be set free from the power of it.

"I pray you would restore her soul and set her feet upon a Rock. In Jesus' name, amen."

Blessings to you sister!
Sincerely,
Tim

Same Sin, Different Day

Hey Morgan.

Of course you can be renewed! God hates your sin, not you. He is big enough to know the difference. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Perhaps you have not forgiven someone who has sinned a similar sin against you? Sometimes that binds us to the problem. I am sure I can help you work through some of the issues binding it to you, and please don't be embarrassed to email me to deal with it. "Confess your faults one to another that you may be healed."

Sometimes we need to know we can confess our sin and not be judged in it. If you email me, I'll be glad to come alongside and see what we can do to get you free.

Blessings to you. The Lord paid a high price for your sins... When is the last time you paid a high price for something and just walked away?

A Prayer for Josh

1John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Psa 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Psa 103:9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
Psa 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Psa 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Psa 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Psa 103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
Psa 103:15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
Psa 103:16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
Psa 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
Psa 103:18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

Josh, confess your sins to the Father. Name them and take responsibility for committing them. Ask the Lord for forgiveness and ask that he deliver you from the power you gave sin over you. Trust in His love. Receive his forgiveness and hit the Spiritual Reset button in your heart. Start out a new moment, putting even the failures of the last second behind you and begin to walk in obedience.

"Father, I pray for Josh that you would deliver him from the accuser who has ensnared him and then accused him to his very core. Josh is a good son who simply needs to repent and be forgiven like the rest of us. Help him receive the forgiveness of Jesus Christ into his heart, that he may forgive himself. In Jesus' name, make him victorious!! amen."

All you have to do is kneel

All you have to do is kneel down and pray. Repent before the Lord. Nobody can help you but Jesus. As James 4:8 says: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your heart, you double-minded" God is faithful and He will cleanse you from all unrighteousness. He is just waiting for you... Longing for you.. Harden not your heart. He loves you so much and He has a great plan for you.

What you have been experiencing right now are only deceptions by Satan. Don't be deceived. Come before the Lord. He will deliver you from sin. He had overcome the world! Declare it on yourself that you are an overcomer!

God bless you!
