Video and audio testimonies, Bible teachings about the horrible REALITY of hell which probably none of us really want to believe in. It is interesting that the different testimonies have different elements. It seems that there is no "one size fits all model experience here". I think what happens immediately after death can vary from person to person, but the end result is the same for those who have never known the Savior and don't want to know Him.
Positive messages and Joel Osteen type preaching
There has been a trend towards sticking to “positive preaching” and trying to avoid ever saying something that might upset the sons of this present age. Robert Schuller and Norman Vincent Peale pioneered this approach years ago, and the accolades they received from both the world and the church probably encouraged a lot of other preachers to adopt a similar strategy.

A Divine Revelation of Hell - Mary K. Baxter
I first read this book in the Romanian language in 1995 or thereabouts. It really impacted me then. Of course, it is not compulsory to believe in the visions and revelations of others (unless they are in the Bible), but if God speaks to you through this, then praise His Holy Name.
I imagine hell is far worse than our minds are willing to imagine. We are on this earth for a very limited season. For some people, life is cut off unexpectedly.
