Has Rick Joyner's Morningstar Ministries gone off?
If you take a look at this video, it seems clear enough that the "Morningstar Church" led by Rick Joyner, has embraced a kind of weirdness that seems very unholy and very unscriptural. It seems that the idea is for everyone to lay hands on one another and the expectation is that in the process some strange manifestations and strange spiritual impartations presumably from God will take place, while many enter into a kind of trance-like state under the influence of the tribal drumbeat.
This and some other clips I have seen of "Morningstar" remind me of the video clips of saw of the followers of the late Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh who practiced "dynamic meditation" - a kind of trancelike dancing to repetitive drumbeats.
Rick Joyner is the guy who is at work to help restore Todd Bentley to the ministry. Presumably, once a semi-plausible story of repentance concerning Todd's adulteries and other sins can be put out there, people like Rick Joyner are going to use their influence to relaunch Todd Bentley on his career of imparting spirits to the people of God.
God help us.

I will say, I haven't got a clue who Todd Bentley is. Have never heard of the guy until this week.
When was the last time anyone on this site posted anything good that the man did?
Having never heard of him, I NOW know he is a Preacher of the Word of God, and he is an ADULTERER.
The sin of adultery, is a conscious act.
Heb 10:26-31
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
God will deal with His representatives, we don't need to be concerned about what this man has done or will do in the future. God knows how to clean His own house. Now as far as Rick Joyner is concerned.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Where is the point where concern ends, and gossip starts, we aught to be very, very careful that "we" to do not sin.
Our position should always be, just to inform the body, that part of the body needs prayer.

If you want bible based, solid truth preaching, I suggest you find out about him and find a Pastor who is one of his spiritual sons (like our pastor here in Qld) in your area. They will be members of the I.S.A.A.C. network of churches. There are others out there who are adhering to scripture I'm sure, but they are increasingly hard to find, as friends of ours recently discovered.

That is the problem with the Pentecostal / Non- Denominational Church.
It is tough to make out who is a sheep , who is a wolf
and who is a shepherd !!!
Anybody care to educate me on this ?
Anyone ready to come out with a list of acceptable and
un-acceptable Christian Preachers ?

I am still not sure about Todd. I am posting cause of the accusation that he's an adulterer and a liar.
So I'm asking for proof he's either. And is it in his past or present?
Vijay et al, unless you have proof someone is misrepresenting himself you should not say such. Remember, it's one of the ten commandments.
There are many, many good preachers and teachers.

there was a least one case ,....where a resurrection from
the dead was faked ,.........supposedly to bring people to Christ.

One other I cannot understand is why preachers like Rick Joyner & Jack Deere ,
have to go to try and minister and save Todd Bently.
There are a thousand other more genuine people in the sub-ways of New York ,
to whom they can minister.
Understand this guys , .....if the Church and her preachers , cannot live by
their own rules , ............they lose all their credibility ,........
and get Christianity becomes just another pagan sham.
We pray Lord , ....that You send your Holy Spirit to guard both the sheep
and the shepherds.

Rick Joyner and Todd Bentley
If you want to take a look at Rick Joyner's site you'll probably still be able to see that he had videos of himself with Todd Bentley. Just google "Rick Joyner" "Todd Bentley" in google together like that.
It is noble to want to restore people, and in my view, Todd Bentley received a genuine ministry from God at one stage, but true restoration happens when we confess, repent and forsake the sin. The adultery thing was not the deepest error or sin in the whole Todd Bentley fiasco, but it is the one sin that its hard to get away with doing openly, and still be accepted as a genuine minister of God - though people do try even that one now.
One question that arises is this. Is the whole ongoing relationship of Todd and Jess adulterous? If not, why not? Because they got a marriage certificate? Because a big name preacher endorses them?
Fixing Our Eyes
Hebrews 12:2 say this: Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Our focus should be on Christ, not on man. Man will fail you because he is impertect. It is good to had Godly preachers and teachers. But we can not hold them in the same light as Jesus Christ is. Man will make mistakes and he will do things wrong and some preachers and teachers will fall, mainly because of their own pride and foolishness. But for us we have high Priest who know how to minister to his children. Hebrews 4:13-15 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let the Lord Our God teach you and when you here Godly teaching, The Holy Spirit will confirm the word that you are already hearing.

Rick Joyner has been mixed up for years, because he has never been a proponent of sola scriptura. Once you depart from Scripture and start entertaining your own imaginings as authoritative, all bets are off.

It is getting to be where you must hunt for a true man of God one that will base his life and ministry on the Word of God...Even in the small churches, pastors have picked up the beliefs of heretics, feel good experiences, word of faith , God is a unlimited ATM and all you need to do is give to this ministry,ect....The air waves and the internet are full of these charletons....The words these ministries give out are very enticing and are believeable until you research and find out for yourself how they error......

Bible based church
Hi Can anyone recommend a church in the Western Sydney area. I am looking for a bible based church and have been in the Charismatic world for some years but recently God has been leading me to seek sound doctrine and my eyes have been opened, I have been listening to podcasts from David Wilkerson and others and am looking for this type of teaching without the legalistic religious approach. just truth, probably a big ask
