The two possible eternal destinies beyond the grave are graphically mentioned by the Lord Jesus in the following passage:
"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." (Mt 25:46)
One group will go to eternal punishment and the other group, the righteous, to eternal life. It should be noted that the Greek word for "punishment" in Mt. 25:46 means "torment"! If we had no other Scripture, but only that single verse, we would know the stakes are as high as they can get! It will be one extreme or the other forever. Not all will go a paradise heaven, only he who overcomes. That also proves that Universalism, though growing in popularity, is antithetical to Christianity and the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Dear reader, if you are of the minority to reap eternal life and receive the crown of life, you must die with a pure heart. Are you faithfully following Jesus AT THIS MOMENT?
