As foolish the question might seem to be,but it is vital as it will keep you in position to know yourself if you are Christian or not.If you ask somebody who is Christian,he will tell you any answer that falls upon the following category (though its not a formula ):
1.Is anybody born in Family that goes to church or one that goes to the church
2.Is anybody who have biblical name (Name found in bible)
3.Anybody that have been baptized .......and so ...and so
let us hear what the Bible have to say about this matter:
Act 11:26 "And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch". So Disciples of Jesus is original Name for Christians and because they were LIKE their master,then people and not Jesus called them Christian(and the name is wonderful).Lets have a little bit about who were disciples of Christ Jesus.The following passage gives us a little bit about who is Christian
Luke 14:26 "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple". in Luke 14:27 we read "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." and then we read in Luke 14:33 "So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple"
Then what can we see from scripture presented above is that:Disciples of Jesus are the one who BELIEVES him and FOLLOWS him wherever he is.And Jesus Himself set the standard of his disciple in Mat 16:24 "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" .As simple as it is you cannot be his disciple without self denial,without hating your own life,without forsake all you have and dismiss all the worldly pleasure just FOR JESUS! Disciples of Christ are those who think about the kingdom of God Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
So being Christian is all about surrender everything you have to Jesus as your master and the very first step is to reconcile with God.This is because Rom 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" and you know something Rom 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"You see ,when Adam sinned ,death entered the life of man and all his descendants were to die.But as above verse simply explains God's plan wasn't for man to meet his terr
