Confessions on Diligence

The blessing of the Lord makes me rich, and he adds no sorrow to it. Pr 10.22

I will not be a lazy sluggard.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children. Pr 14.22

In all labour there is profit - but idle chatter leads only to poverty. I get down to business. Pr 14.23

I am not lagging in diligence. I am fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Rom 12.11

Diligence is my precious possession. Pr 12.27

The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slothful will be put to forced labour. I will be diligent and rule. Pr 12.24

Whether I eat or drink, or whatever I do, I do all for the glory of God. 1Cor 10.31

I aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind my own business, and to work with my own hands, as the Lord commanded me. 1Thes 4.11

I work with labour and toil night and day, that I might not be a burden to anyone, following the example of the apostle Paul, who commanded: If anyone will not work, let him not eat. I work in quietness and eat my own bread. 2Thes 3.8-3.12
