You are incorrect Angels - tongues is not necessary to be saved
It is you who have strange doctrines. Doctrines which no one held until some time in the 20th century. You can say that the apostles taught this, but you can't prove it from Scripture. I say that there is no evidence that they did.
You are the one reading the term "Born again" into the text below. It simply is not there.
Act 10:45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
Act 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered,
Act 10:47 "Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?"
This means exactly what it says: it means that the Gentiles received the Holy Spirit in the same way that Peter and the others did on the Day of Pentecost. They got baptized in the Holy Spirit in the same way as the apostles did, and in this case I believe it happened when they were born again. God can and sometimes does do that. It doesn't mean, nor does it say, that you have to speak in tongues to be born again.
Philip baptized people in Acts 8 before they got the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Are you advocating the baptizing of people who are not born again also?
The tragedy is not that people receive a seed but fail to get born again through speaking in tongues. The tragedy is that many people who do speak in tongues are ignorant of the teaching of Scriptures and condemn all those who do not belong to their narrow Revival Centre type groups.
I speak in tongues myself, probably much more than you, but I will never say that tongues is necessary for salvation.
You are simply assuming your doctrine to be true and then fitting the text into it.
I will tell you something else: plenty of practitioners of other religions who speak in tongues, and none of them are born again of the Spirit. Furthermore, there are plenty of backsliders who can still speak in tongues. So speaking in tongues proves nothing in respect of being right with God. It would only be a confirming sign in the case of someone who had sufficient spiritual discernment to know that it was from God. And as such, it would not even be proof that a person had fully repented.
