This message was very powerful to me and I have no doubts that it was indeed reflective of the Lord's intent for our position as His children. I am a full-time graduate student half-way through my master's degree in social work (direct clinical practice). I have just fulfilled an internship in a short-term psychiatric unit designed for crisis intervention. During my time at this field placement I have witnessed many personal accounts of the world's most prominant psychiatric conditions. In addition, I have been subjected to a multitude of "unclean spirits" that plague these individual's minds as they would admit to either seeing things or hearing voices that have influenced their behavior (i.e. visual/auditory hallucinations - prominant in those diagnosed with either schizophrenia or bipolar disorder).

Another phenomenon that I saw in these populations were the acknowledgement of these hallucinations were "evil" or the work of the "devil." Interestingly, many of these individuals felt as though they had an extraordinary relationship/knowledge of "God" or what is known in the mental health field as "grandiose delusions." My colleagues would never cease to find humor in these individual's personal accounts as it was nonsense or foolishness on the patient's behalf. Then they would be prescribed more antipsychotic medications to "alleviate" these symptoms. Although these characteristics would be "alleviated" they were never fully gone and did come back at some point more severe.

These experiences had inspired me to promote a group therapy session revolving around the utilization of spiritual beliefs/faith as a client strength in their treatment. This is a topic in mental health that has began to receive more attention, validation and promotion in my field. However, because of the U.S.'s law on the division of church and state I was not allowed to promote my own spiritual convictions or "witness" the gospel to them especially as a Pentecostal Christian. In all honesty utilizing/promoting ANY spiritual belief is highly discouraged as this is a profession that profits off of prescribing antipsychotics/mood stabilizers and views any discussion of paranormal activity/belief as tabboo.

Therefore, if there is a distinction between the roles of government and spirituality then one would think that there is an expectancy of those who live not carnally, but in the Spirit to not partake in rituals designed to construct a hierarchy of power/rule when the true "ruler" is the God of Abraham through Jesus Christ. Why attempt to influence the designation of a ruler in this world when none of it's principalities apply in the Spirit?

Furthermore, even during the times of Samuel the Israelites did not elect their king considering Saul and David were only anointed by Samuel as he was instructed by God? The only true king of the Hebrews after Solomon was Jesus Christ who is indeed the same yesterday, today and forever. Amen!
