Earn salvation?
Imagine that you are hungry and have in your hand a piece of fruit. Yet the fruit has a worm, or a bruise. Did that portion of the fruit without the worm or bruise do anything to earn salvation? The good news of Christ is not that of where salvation can be bought or earned, it is liberation from the fear of punishment after death. It is freely given to whomever has ears to hear. Salvation is liberation from our superstitions. It is freedom to love ones neighbor and do good deeds. It is freedom from the bondage of sin. What is sin? Sin is that which leads to nothingness. Have you a folly which profits you nothing? The scriptures tell us that God came from a place of nothingness. He no longer resides in nothingness and proclaims, "I am." Set your goals to a path which leads to substance and not nothingness. Rejoice in all things and enjoy that which is and ever shall be. This is salvation. How can that be earned?
