Induced trances?
Its OK if God puts you into a trance but using music to achieve that state of mind on your own initiative strikes me as a dangerous practice.
Its true that prophets did call for musicians but I doubt it was raucous music they used. And it doesn't say that they went into trances as a result. Probably the praise and worship opened the door for God to move quite apart from trances or altered states of consciousness. You don't have to be in a trance to prophesy.
