Just a couple things...

I honestly don't believe that a true believer can anywhere down the road come to be "an atheist, a witch, a Christ-hater, and a bitter opponent of the gospel" (A false convert could though.) Assurance of salvation isn't saying you can get away with sin, on the contrary, as God's children he holds us to a higher standard, he disciplines us on EARTH for our wrongdoings in order to keep us in obedience. Galatians 6:7 "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." We are no longer enemies who are punished with eternal damnation, but children who are disciplined out of love.

"Ourselves" is included in "life", the "present", and "anything else in all creation" (the last covers EVERYTHING else that wasn't covered in the previous)

Satan does prowl around looking for someone to devour. He has already lost our soul to Jesus (If we have been born again), so his goal is to render us ineffective for the kingdom of God, whether by deceit, placing doubt, or some other form of attack.
If you aren't being obedient to God, Satan will reek havoc in our lives.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond to my comments and questions, I've learned a lot. I guess we will have to agree to disagree, both sides of the discussion can present pretty weighty evidence to support their view. Please pray for me that I will receive wisdom to see and be confident in the truth, I will also pray for you. God bless.

One thing we do agree on is that living in obedience is vital to relationship with Christ.

"Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are halfhearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased."
