Did Jesus have authority in the temple?

You are assuming that Jesus was not the Son of God acting on God's instructions. On this basis, of course, Jesus had no authority to clean up God's temple of sharks and money hungry merchants.

But your assumption is wrong. Jesus is the Son of God. He always took a keen interest in the will of His Father.

Its interesting that the crowd demanded that a violent criminal Barabbas be released in the place of Jesus. Pilate, the Roman governor, found Jesus not guilty but gave him over to death for fear of the Jews. So much for the theory that it was all about putting violent criminals to death.

Jesus never hurt anyone, only business interests of those who were flagrantly abusing God's temple or ignoring God's law.

When Jesus returns however, it will be for judgment. I hope you are doing well with the Ten Commandments, but I suspect, Adam, that like the rest of humanity you do not even live up to your own standards, let alone God's.
