Criticism of T.B. Joshua

Adam,

When I lived on the Gold Coast, my pastor actually travelled to Nigeria and saw with his own eyes what was going on. This pastor was and is no fool. The number of genuine miracles is undeniable. They don't show a tiny fraction of it on their website or TV programmes.

My own parents who are not charismatics in theology have had undeniable confirmation of this man's accuracy.

Some of my own close personal friends have dealt with T.B. Joshua when he came to Sydney. Even when leaving for the airport, he did not come out of the house until it was, naturally speaking, too late to catch the plane. No one knew it at the time, but the plane was delayed several hours, so there was no problem.

The writer at deceptioninthechurch can't seem to say a good thing about anyone who believes in the present day operation of the Holy Spirit's gifts. You can ally with such people if you want to in these matters, they are conservative evangelicals, but it doesn't mean that either of you are judging matters rightly here.

It is my experience that whenever someone rises up in the power of Jesus Christ and does anything notably different, that every religious demon from every source seems to rise up and go on the attack. Including religious demons in Christians.

Jesus taught that his true followers would be called evil, since He Himself was. "If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more then the members of his house".

If you want the truth you are going to have to look beyond the cheap criticism that comes from people whose main ministries are in front of computer monitors. Like it or not, certain conservative evangelicals still have to deal with Scriptures like:

"Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also." (John 14:12)

If I am going to trust the words of Jesus, its best if I don't pick and choose which ones should be applicable to me, based on my limited experience.

God doesn't feel obligated to reveal the truth to those who don't have a heart for it, be they Christians or not. Please take note.

As for Benny Hinn, God IS doing some miracles in his meetings, but VERY FEW in comparison with the number of sick people who go there looking for help. There is a big difference. Perhaps .1% of the people who attend his meetings are genuinely healed of something.

Benny Hinn IS a showman, I personally don't care for his style, but there is still some value in what he preaches, and I will leave it to God to give final judgment. I don't like some of his fundraising techniques, but I have to choose my battles and its not something I will major on at this time.

Remember that the critics of Jesus could not deny that miracles were happening, so they wanted to say it was by the power of the devil that it was going on. So with some of our modern day Pharisees and Sadducees. For them, only the devil can do mighty signs and wonders today.
