You are right, my message was garbled. Leave that to a Dad who was on the pc too close to church time. I didn't realize the time and when I did, I hit the 'submit post' button without filling out the thought or revising it!
You are correct on the Incas and Mayans and others who were in business at the time. I was totally off on that point. Still, I believe prophecy is true for today and if Jacob said this is what will become of you in the last days, it is so. The Bible is written as a Hebrew-centered piece of literature, not a geographical piece of literature.
I agree with you. Prophecy is something that is written to explain the majesty and foresight of God - in our hindsight. This is to say we don't really know what it is about until after the fact. In the case of Jesus and the road to Emmaus, He had to explain it to them even after it was fulfilled. It is at that time that all comes alive and we gain a deeper appreciation for our God who names the end from the beginning.
With that in mind, I am NOT trying to shove anything down anyone's throat, but am merely engaging our brains on the topic. If you care to ignore the topic I do not think it damns your soul or makes you less Christian.
You are referencing the vital [living] importance of the transfer of God's kingdom from the earthly promises to the spiritual ones. It is important that we all be grafted into the spiritual vine in humility. This however does not address the topic of the physical descendants. Did the tribe of Judah die when the church was born? Of course not. Did the other eleven tribes die? No. Hence the question. In light of Jacob's prophecy for national greatness, where are they today?
Am I correct that your answer is they are no longer around?
