The best I can make out is that the prophesy of Jacob to his sons of what shall befall them 'in the last days' is true.

Gen 49:1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.
Gen 49:2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.

This being so, he conferred a blessing on the sons of Joseph, who is fruitful'

Gen 49:22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
Gen 49:23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:
Gen 49:24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
Gen 49:25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
Gen 49:26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

In these last days, is Israel fruitful? Only in produce, not progeny. Joseph was blessed independently of Judah.

Gen 49:8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall
praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.

The modern state of Israel has its hand in the necks of its enemies. They hate Israel, but are powerless to fulfill their hatred. Is it any wonder the Americans and British have been their chief alliance and have upheld their brother?

Notice the blessing conferred to Manasseh and Ephraim, Joseph's sons. This is how the blessing on Joseph's fruitful portion would be established 'in the last days.'

First, note this....

Gen 48:5 And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.
Gen 48:6 And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.

These boys were given the inheritance of sons, not grandsons. Hence the fact there were virtually three tribes one of Ephraim and two 'half tribes' of Mannaseh in the promised land - rather than one tribe of Joseph.

Now notice this...

Gen 48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
Gen 48:18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
Gen 48:19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

IF God is true...

In these last days we have one great nation and one prosperous 'multitude of nations.' The children of Joseph are not contained in one nation state today. So, who are they? I believe America is Mannaseh 'which means causing to forget'. Have we forgotten our God? I believe the British Empire was the explosion of Joseph's fruitfulness in these last days. If you do not agree, then I respectfully put this for conjecture. Who do you believe today is accurately described in the promises to Ephraim and Manasseh?

All this is said as a backdrop to the discussion at hand. It fits in with this discussion because I believe the European states are the fulfillment of the two legs in the prophetic statue of Daniel which went from the Babylonian kingdom down through the Roman Empire. The whore of Babylon I would be inclined to say points to the religious system that rules out of the inheritance it received from ancient Babylonian mystery religion. This would be the Catholic church.

Having stated that, God's eyes are on us as individuals and we have all gone whoring and gone astray unless and until we repent. There are children of God in many churches, including the RC church, so I do not judge Catholics as being evil. I believe the system is, but that there are saints in their midst. You will find saints in every church written in Revelation chapters 2-3. We all must stand alone before God and answer. I will answer for myself, not anyone else. They will give account, and we may all be surprised at who fits where in God's merciful and loving eternal plan.

Its an interesting discourse, isn't it?
