But Does it Mean Ours Must Be the Terminal Generation?
It's undeniable that Satan has always sought an avenue to rule over man, since man is the image and likeness of God. Evil seeks the ascendancy in every generation.
But does that mean we must be the final generation before Christ's return?
I've noticed that every evil empire in history, and each of the New World Order conspiracy theories, had this in common - they all had a habit of failing to keep predicted deadlines; they all failed to fulfill apocalyptic expectations; and they all fizzled out after a while.
Jesus' words still hold true regardless of one's eschatological viewpoint: "no man knows the day nor the hour."
I think we need to see that we can effectively warn against unholy alliances simply by proclaiming His coming - without needing to issue false prophecies of our own about the timing of His coming.
