Eligah's comment on the above subject is very comprehensive and above all, is based on Scripture, and, I believe, is a correct one!
I have witnessed much of this "Holy Laughter" in my 30 years as a Charismatic minister, and as a result, I have withdrawn from such ministries that practise what I honestly believe to be demonic infiltration of the church of our Lord Jesus Christ. One of the fruit of the Holy Spirit is self-control, and hysterical and maniacal shrieking with laughter is not one of them. I have no fear of being branded with blaspheming the Holy Spirit, and that is not spiritual arrogance on my part! The fruit of "Joy"
is a deep and profound understanding of the salvation provided by our Lord Jesus Christ and a thankful and grateful realisation that we are part of God's KIngdom and that Jesus truly is Lord of our lives.
We are ALL invoked by Scripture to "test the spirits" to see if they are of the Lord, and this is sadly lacking or non-existent in many Charismatic churches and fellowships.
In many of the old Revivals, especially the Welsh Revival in my own nation, many satanic intrusions were manifested and had to corrected by those who had applied true Biblical "distinguishing of spirits" 1Cor 12:10.
Though we have a site forum, really every page on this site can be commented on, and be like the beginning of a forum topic. So please, get involved and post your comments and lets get some discussion happening here!

"Holy" Laughter?
