The Wilderness Experience

After a person truly turns to Christ and receives the assurance of God's forgiveness for their past sins, there is usually a short period of joy and blessing where everything seems so wonderful and new! During this period answers to prayer come easily, and God seems to give lots of favor. This may be compared to the joy that the Israelites had in leaving Egypt to head for the Promised Land. read more »

Scriptures on the Importance of Endurance

Mat 24:13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

God does not promise salvation to those who fail to endure in the tests which are surely coming upon the people of the earth. So don't give up! (See Mark 13:13, Matthew 10:22

Heb 10:36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

We need to keep doing the will of God to be saved. If we don't have endurance, we cannot receive the promises of God concerning salvation or anything else. read more »

Weapons of Our Warfare

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought
into captivity to the obedience of Christ". (2 Corinthians 10:4,5)

The apostle Paul here states that we are engaged in a warfare, and that we have weapons with which we must fight. As Paul states in Ephesians 6:12, our fight is not with flesh and blood, with people, but with the host of demons that work to defile, destroy, harrass, tempt and enslave mankind. read more »

Some Important Truths That I Have Learnt - Zac Poonen

During the 47 years that I have been a born-again Christian, I have learnt some important truths that have encouraged me and given direction and purpose to my life. I share them here with you with the hope that they will be an encouragement to you as well.

1. God Loves Us As He Loved Jesus read more »

Satanic Tactics

"... for we are not ignorant of his devices." (2 Corinthians 2:11)

Paul and his close co-workers made it their business not to be ignorant of Satan's devices. This does not mean that Paul spent a lot of time researching all the dark secrets of Satan's kingdom. No. Paul said to the Romans, "I want you to be wise in what is good, but simple (innocent) concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly" (Romans 16:19). Honestly, we don't need to be "au fait" with all the latest conspiracy theories and what Satan may or may not be doing (Isaiah 8:12,13). read more »

The Nature and Power of the Word of God

"For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)

God's Word is at work in the world today. It is an active force. It governs the spiritual activity in the Universe. It changes things, especially when spoken and believed, both in the hearts of men and in their circumstances. God is watching over his word to perform it (Jer. 1:12). read more »

Principles to Make your Home Group Grow

The Holy Spirit has been putting great emphasis on the use of small groups for discipleship, outreach and other purposes. This is not surprising, especially when you consider that there are so many commands in the New Testament relating to things we do "one to another". How can we love one another as Jesus loved his disciples (John 13:34,35) unless there is an environment in which close relationships can develop?

The Example of Jesus

Jesus spent a lot of time with his disciples, because he loved them. They were with him both in public and in private. read more »

Walk In Courage (ii)

I tell you for the glory of God. I have been in full-time ministry for the past 13 years, with not one single failure during my crusades. I can honestly say I have never returned from a mission and had to admit: "1 failed there; because it was a hard place." Do you know why? It's because I know that God is with me. Roman 8:31 (b) says:

"...If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Why do we get discouraged? read more »
