Call to Fasting

The difference between what our Christianity ought to be and what it actually is in our day comes down to a lack of prayer and fasting. We plan to do something about that. See my challenge at the end of this article.

Sadhu Sundar Singh - At the Master's Feet

I have found something in the public domain so inspiring that I have posted it on this blog. As a young man from a wealthy family in the Punjab, Sadhu Sundar Singh was desperate for peace - something he could not find through his own prayers and devotions through following the teachings in his own Sikh holy book, The Granth, or in the Hindu vedas or even in the Qu'ran - though he knew much of these by heart. On Christian Contemporary Music and Christian Rock

"The disciple is not above His Lord. If we want the joy of Christ, we must do what Christ did. For Him, satisfaction was not the result of finding some Christian pleasure to compete with the world's pleasure. It was not a question of being entertained by church performances instead of secular performances. Christ does not compete by promising a religious equivalent of what the world offers, pleasure for pleasure. It is completely different. The pleasure of Christ is the will of God and its enactment. read more »
