Many Ways to God or Many Errors in the Name of Religion?

Many people in the west believe "there is something out there" while others affirm with conviction that they know there is no God.

Eastern religions teach that "everything" is God and through meditation we can come to realise our inherent divinity. Those in the Judaeo-Christian traditions believe that the creation is not part of God at all.  read more »

Ignatius - Bishop of Antioch - Alleged writer of many False Roman Catholic Doctrines

If you want to find the origins of some of the extra-biblical doctrines and practices of the Roman Catholic Church, you ought to check out the alleged writings of good 'ole "Saint" Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch. Recent popes have emphasized the importance of the writings of St Ignatius. He is seen as a kind of bridge between the Apostles and the Roman Catholic church. The integrity therefore of this "bridge" ought to be carefully evaluated BEFORE you entrust your eternal soul to it. read more »

Kings AND Priests

"To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." (Revelation 1:5,6)

Jesus not only washed us from our sins in His own blood, but He has also lifted us up to two very important offices. The believer has the potential to operate as BOTH a king and a priest to God. One of the fundamental revelations of the Reformation was 'the priesthood of all believers' but I believe the Reformers themselves had a very limited idea of what this means. read more »

Is Mary as taught by Roman Catholics the Way to Salvation?

Roman Catholics have for centuries had a concept of Mary, the mother of Jesus, which goes far beyond, and even contradicts what the Bible says about her.

Apostolic succession - says who?

Once again, from the Catholic Catechism, we read:

"In order that the full and living Gospel might always be preserved in the Church the apostles left bishops as their successors. They gave them ‘their own position of teaching authority.'"35 Indeed, "the apostolic preaching, which is expressed in a special way in the inspired books, was to be preserved in a continuous line of succession until the end of time."36

This is a VERY important claim of the Roman Catholic church. read more »

Vatican text say others are not really churches

I refer to the article on BBC news, Vatican text angers Protestants.

It begins by saying, "Pope Benedict has approved a new text asserting that Christian denominations outside Roman Catholicism are not true Churches in the full sense of the word."

And further, concerning this document:

"Other Christian denominations, it argues, cannot be called Churches in the proper sense because they cannot trace their bishops back to Christ's original apostles."

It is good for the Roman Catholic church to state their position openly, wh read more »

Where is the Mother Church?

In the Catechism of the Roman Catholic church on the U.S. Catholic bishop's site, it writes:

"Our holy mother, the Church, holds and teaches that God, the first principle and last end of all things, can be known with certainty from the created world by the natural light of human reason." http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect1.htm#36
