Honoring the King

Honoring the King

“A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear…?” (Malachi 1:6) read more »

Power from Heaven

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

One of the subjects that have brought much contention to the body of Christ is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. This is intriguing because scripture is rather clear on the issue. However, I have discovered over the years that deception in this area is rampant in the body of Christ. read more »

The True Gospel

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” (Romans 1:16)

What is the gospel? It has been many things to many people down through the ages. It has been the basis for religious denominations, churches, theological debates, and a set of “rules” that must be followed in order to “please” God and get to heaven. In fact, much of the time it has become something that God never intended it to become. read more »

The Friend of God

“And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.” (James 2:23)

Abraham was called the friend of God. This indeed is an amazing thing that the Creator of the heavens and the earth would consider a man as His friend; but Abraham was not the only friend that God had in the Old Testament. read more »

Leaven of the Pharisees

“…Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.” (Luke 12:1)

I read a statement this week by another believer concerning a minister that had fallen into sin, but has since repented, and God is restoring him. This believer said, “The attitude we have toward this man (the minister) reveals something about our own walk with the Lord.” read more »

Spirit of Excellence

“That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ…” (Philippians 1:10)

I once heard someone say, “Excellence of ministry they have, but excellence of spirit, they have not!”This has stuck with me over the years, but it also brings us to ask, what does God consider excellence? read more »

Forgetting

“…but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” (Philippians 3:13)

Most of us, if we have walked with the Lord for any length of time have had our share of battles, and some of them might not seem to have turned out so well in our favor.  The wounds and feelings of perplexity can at times run deep, leaving us feeling defeated, confused and without much hope for the future.   read more »

That Good Part

“But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42)

Have you ever wondered why everything seems to work out for some believers? It seems that with some Christians, favor, blessing and peace seem to follow them wherever they go (Psalm 23:6), and though there are challenges, there always seems to be an inner strength and joy in the midst of every trial.  read more »

God's Faithfulness

Obedience

Freedom From Religion

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)

God has called us unto liberty, not bondage. He has called us to be free so that we may serve him without fear all the days of our lives. (Luke 1:74) read more »
