Sin and Saints

Is sin only something you 'do'? or, is it more?

In writing this, I feel as though I am having to answer to a denominational textbook that I have no intention of reading. I am attending a pentecostal church in which I have good standing and am highly regarded by leadership. However, the Bible is my text of choice. The apostles and prophets who are exalted by God in scripture, are my heroes. Within the pages of scripture alone will we find this topic sufficiently covered.

Basic scriptures on sin, that define it for me are these:
"Sin is the transgression of the law." read more »

3 Days and 3 Nights

This post is in reply to Rstats on Mark 16:9.... I could not publish it as a comment for some reason...

Mar 16:9 "Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils."

Jesus said the proof of his Messiahship was to be found in being in the grave "three days and three nights" as was Jonah. He told the Pharisees, "destroy this temple and in three days, I will raise it up..." to prove the same point. read more »

Selfish Christianity

I have come to see more clearly the command of Jesus. He said in Luke 9:23, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it."

"5 A.M." on Skype

I am having a convergence of thoughts as I take this step of faith in writing you. I will share them with you.

Have you ever done something when you were a teenager, when sometimes you would when you just 'up and did something crazy'? Getting up at 5 this morning, I had that sense ... except this actually has VALUE to it! read more »

The Muslim Brotherhood, with the complicity of the Obama administration, has infiltrated the U.S. government at the highest levels and is influencing American policy that leaves the world’s Christians in grave danger, warns internationally known evangelist Franklin Graham read more »

The Logic of Tolerance

We all have things we tolerate, and things we do not tolerate.

Everybody. Even those who claim to tolerate everything, do not tolerate everything. In a post, for example, I told our visitor that his/her posts may not be published past this point. The 'threat' I posed in 'not tolerating' further posts, was simply that this site would not be publishing the author further. read more »

The Stupidity of Diversity

I am using an anonymous question to 3chelon as the basis for this blog because I do not want the reply buried i nconversational threads. Since the person is anonymous, I hope they do not take personal offense here. This is a Christian board, and as a moderator, I have the obligation to keep the furniture arranged after this person who comes in under guise of learning and undertakes to overthrow the love and joy of fellowship we enjoy. read more »

The Eyes Have It - Spirits Indwelling Saints

We need to take a look at the obvious scriptures that speak of unclean spirits in the Bible. What do they look like? How do they manifest in the flesh?

Spirits in Scripture

The first spirit to be mentioned in scripture is "the spirit of God" which moved upon the face of the waters.

The next spirit is, "the spirit of Jacob" which revived. The New Testament speaks of the spirit in man. "for what man knows the things of man, save the spirit of man in him?" read more »

Three-fold Deliverance

The word deliverance brings up many pictures to many people. What is it, and when is it needed? How is it achieved?

What is Deliverance?

The Old Testament was written for our example. This means it is relevant to us as Christians today. When we look at deliverance in the OT, it was Israel, God's people, who received it. read more »

Shariah Law - teen beaten to death after being raped.

A 14 year old girl was raped, then accused of adultery and flogged under Shariah Law. Here is the story. This is why I love the Lord Jesus Christ, and God the Father... They are just and kind and righteous in all their ways!

Near Death Experiences: My Opinion

I have heard testimonies of people going to 'heaven' or 'hell' when they die. If this is a reality, then 100% of people who die and are resuscitated will have such an occurance, wouldn't they?

Jesus was right (surprise, surprise!) when he said though Lazarus should rise from the dead, the rich man's brothers wouldn't listen to him. In saying this, is it not clear that God sees raising people from the dead with an afterlife testimony as not an effective way to preach the gospel? read more »

"I may die, but I will not deny my God."

Greetings in the name of the Lord! Please remember the body of Christ who are suffering simply for believing in Jesus Christ. We find so many things to complain about in our lives, but lets take a moment each day to remember those who are truly persecuted for their faith, and pray for them that they would be bold in witness and strengthened in God's love, as well as that they would be provided for. The following is an article and the link it comes from.....
