End Times, Bible Prophecy and Eschatology

This is a vast subject, and many interpretations exist on different issues. It is desirable that we avoid deceptions - anything that keeps us feeling safe in sin is a deception.

This section of the site deals with issues relating to the end times, the last days, the things which God has revealed must take place.

Many dogmatically proclaim that they know what the difficult passages in the Bible about end times mean. They are often hard to understand. We know in part, as the Scripture says.

The humble person is the one who will consider viewpoints and information that they have not considered until now. All we can do is present our understanding as best we can, trusting God to guide our thinking.

Right views on the return of Christ and end times are not required for salvation. Holiness and faith are. Never get so engrossed in these matters that you neglect to live a holy life. Being right about end times is no substitute for successfully doing the will of God.

Is the Bible all really easy to understand?

From time to time you will hear a preacher get up and say something like, "Actually the Bible is really easy to understand. Even a child can understand it. Its simple - we just make it complicated with our various theologies".

This sounds good, and might encourage some to read the Bible - which would be a good thing, but there are a couple of important things we should observe.

Firstly, we need the Holy Spirit's help to understand God's message to us. Natural reasoning alone will certainly not give us the correct understanding.  read more »

Christian, be ready!

Jesus said:

"Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

"Therefor you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour do you not expect". (Matthew 24:42-44)  read more »

The Second Coming of Christ

WE BELIEVE in the premillennial, imminent and personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ to gather his people unto himself. Having this glorious hope and earnest expectation, we purify ourselves, even as He is pure, so that we may be ready to meet him when He comes - John 14:1-3; James 5:7,8; Titus 2:13; 1 Thess 4:15-17; 2 Thess, 2:1; 1 John 2:28; 3:2,3.

What We Need to Know about Times and Seasons

At the time of writing, there is a war on between Israel and Lebanon. A lot of people are suffering – Christians, Moslems and Jews. There is tension between Iran and the USA and it is believed that the conflict could escalate. Apparently a islamic terror plot to blow up some airplanes in mid-air has just been foiled, and security measures are being tightened everywhere. The economies of the world are looking shaky, and fear and anxiety are on the rise.

On Speculating on End-time Events

Back in 1986 I developed some interest in end-time events. What I have noticed over the years is that we can always construct an interesting theory that suggests that Jesus is coming back next year, or Real Soon Now. Six day theories, pre-trib rapture theories are modified from year to year by self-appointed "prophets" and others who find the whole thing so fascinating.

I have read _highly plausible_ and interesting theories interpreting Daniel, Revelation and other Scriptures - the only trouble is they contradict each other in many points.

Will there be a Secret Rapture of the Church

What did Jesus say about the end of the age?

What Did Jesus Say about the End of the Age?

We live in an age where people are feeling insecure about the future. This is really understandable, as a lot of things have been happening which really make you wonder how much longer things can go on as they are. Whether it be Wars in the Middle East, terrorism, tsunamis, the threat of bird avian flu wiping out a quarter of the world's population, or the possible collapse of the American economy - there are many things that could bother people and cause fear.
