Attitude - Chapter 28 - Catch the Glorious Fire by Paul Quadros
Chapter 28 - Catch the Glorious Fire - by Ps Paul Quadros
To keep the fire burning, we must go on still further in our relationship with the Lord in maintaining a right attitude. Somebody said, ‘Our right attitude takes us to a higher altitude to influence the multitude’.
Remember again in Ezekiel 47:5, when the man measured a thousand cubit for the fourth time, it was a river that could not be crossed, because the floor had gone down (so the water had increased) and was deep enough to swim in. This symbolizes that our walking in the Spirit should be so deep, that we are completely immersed so that our attitude will become Christ like. In this stage, none of the enemy’s arrows can touch us or hurt us.
We see in the scriptures, David—a man after God’s own heart—maintained a right attitude even in the most unfavorable circumstances. King Saul was against him, and even a few of his sons rebelled against him. We are also reminded of Joseph, who maintained a right attitude while going through the painful pit experience. Also the times he suffered when his own brothers sold him to the Ishmaelites, and the time he was thrown into prison due to a false accusation by Potipher’s wife.
There are many more examples in the bible of men and women of God who kept their attitudes right and thus maintained the fire and the call of God on their lives. Finally our attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: who being in the very nature of God did not consider equality with God, something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death—even death on the cross.
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place, and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father. (Phil 2:5-11)
