Eternal Hell

How Could A God of Love Send People to Hell?

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.”

Psalm 9:17

There are few thoughts more unpleasant than the thought of a human soul burning in endless fires of torment and anguish. Could it possibly be that multitudes of deceased souls are even now in that horrible condition? Imagine for a moment being eternally lost – without hope of rescue, with no opportunity for another chance. All your past sins are before your mind, leaving your poor soul tormented with guilt. Add to that the righteous wrath of Almighty God – the hot displeasure of the Lord of the Universe whose Word you despised in your lifetime now taking vengeance on your soul! Weeping, gnashing of teeth, gnawing worms, darkness, regret, utter despair. The thought is so unpleasant we are reluctant to consider it. The mind rebels against such a thing.

But could it be true?

It seems to match the description given in the Bible.
How horrible.

A God of Love?

If it is true that this is going on, how could we possible consider the God who sends people to hell a God of love? Oh, I know that some say, “God doesn’t send anyone to hell, people send themselves”. It sounds good, but it doesn’t match the words of the Bible. Jesus Christ told us that one day He is going to say to some, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels!” (Matthew 25:41). It doesn’t sound like these people sent themselves to hell. No sir. No one would willingly choose that destination. Even demons, evil spirits, were afraid of being sent there (see Luke 8:31).

How could a God of love send people to hell?

The Bible certainly claims that God is a God of love. It says in John 3:16,

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life!”

In 1 John 4:8 it says, “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love”.

If love desires the best for the beloved, how could God end up casting any person, no matter HOW bad, into everlasting fire and torment, with no chance of a reprieve?

The answers are there if you dig in the Bible. The subject is unpleasant and shocking. This subject will be offensive to MANY. You yourself might take offence at God, and His Word. However, I believe it is better for us to be shocked NOW, than shocked THEN, after we leave this mortal frame and enter into eternity. May God help us all to be prepared for what lies beyond the veil of death.

    OUT OF CONTROL

Exodus 32:22 KJV “And Aaron said, “Let not the anger of my lord grow hot: you know the people, that they are set on mischief.”

This scripture relates to the Israelites when they turned to idols. Since I am an American, I have to write about my country for it’s all I know. If you can, you can also look at your country’s history and see where it stands with God instead of your own idols.

This is not just about the cold-blooded murder in the schools and threats but it goes back further than that. It goes back to the Garden of Eden when God created the first man and woman. God gave them everything. He wanted to prove them so he gave them a choice to obey him or to go their own way.
God told them not to eat of the fruit of the tree which grew in the middle of the garden. The devil went to Eve and tempted her. This is one time the devil told the truth in Genesis 3:5 “For God does know that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be open, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

Genesis 3:7a “And the eyes of them both were opened.” They chose to be their own gods rather than to listen to the only true God. Trouble, fighting and murder began after that. God put them out of the garden to run their own lives.

As time went on, you can see just how depraved man has become. The first act of violence is in Genesis 4:8 “And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and slew him.”

Cain was jealous because Abel’s offering to God was accepted and his wasn’t. He saw “red” and murder followed. What would it take for us to get that angry? We don’t know what we would do in certain circumstances.

From then on men were always killing men. They thought they would never be seen. God is watching. In His due time they will pay for their sins if they don’t repent and turn to Jesus.

God can and does forgive if a person is truly sorry. Read John 3:16-21. Man always had a choice to do good or to do evil.

All through history we hear about violence all over the world. It is getting worse and worse. I will talk about America. The Pilgrims came to this untamed land to have religious freedom. We had been a blessed nation. It was built on the Bible. In school children were taught to read by it.

Wars were fought to keep this land free. The people were eager to go to church. They loved to sing songs of praise. They loved to hear God’s Words. Scriptures were read at the dinner table and children were taught how to behave by them.

Of course there always were evil people who didn’t want any part of God and His rules. There was violence in the land. But what has changed? Isaiah 5:20-24 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and evil good; that put darkness for light; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink. .. And their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One.”

It is hard to know where to start. When did evil begin to be called good on a large scale? These won’t be in any particular order. When did it become O.K. to kill a baby? They say a fetus is not a baby yet.

What does God say? Read Psalm 139:14-16 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are your works; and that my soul knows right well. My substance was not hid from You, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought (formed) in the lowest parts of the earth (in the mother’s womb). Your eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect; and in your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there were none of them.” There was never a time that it wasn’t a baby in the making. Every part was important in God’s plan.

When did the debate between Wade vs Roe become a law. Abortion was O.K. “It’s my body. I can do what I want with it.” That is their defense. It is a very selfish one. They wanted to have the enjoyment of sex without the responsibility.

So many women would like to have a baby and can’t. It has been said that there are more babies killed by abortion than there were Jews in the Holocaust which was a hate crime. I don’t like you so I have the right to kill you, so they think. Same with racial riots and killings—white against the blacks, Orientals, Indians, Mexicans, all against each other, etc. God made us all so who are we to decide who has the right to live and who doesn’t?

There has always been the demon liquor. Before a person takes a drink, he or she can be the nicest person. How soon a person might be controlled by it. I will include smoking with that and drugs. They all affect a person. They get bold and their minds get warped when they have too much.

MY 2nd husband was an alcoholic. He had three different personalities. First he was a very loving person. He put me on a pedestal. A couple more, he was a comedian and had me laughing. Then he got to the stage I hated. He became belligerent, knocked me off the pedestal and called me all kinds of nasty names. He was ready to fight no matter how big the person was. He was a skinny guy and couldn’t hurt a flea. The alcohol gave him courage he really didn’t have.

Drinking and smoking was the social thing
to do. Kids saw their parents drink. They learned the habit. Grownups began to sell drugs to the school kids at the school grounds. It was expensive. They began to keep up with their habit. If they had to kill someone, they did.

Dead bodies can now be found almost anywhere. It keeps getting worse. Recently 5 bodies were found in and around a business district. I used to walk the one street when I was working. It was safe then.

Then we had the Twin Towers bombing. Later there were the shootings at Columbine High School followed by the Amish school. Now we have to deal with the massacre at Virginia Tech.

God was taken out of the schools and public places. When this happens and we don’t want God around any more, He doesn’t stay where He’s not wanted. The more God is pushed out, the more power does the prince of the world (Satan) have.

This is getting way too long. Another shall follow. It will deal with how the 60’s brought in “If it feels good, do it.” And “truth is relevant” to the situation and not a set form as in the Bible. Man began to change what God demanded. Never gave Him a thought.

I will finish with the hope we still have. Ephesians2:-3 “And you has He quickened, who were dead and trespasses and sins; Wherein in times past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Read Ephesians 2:4-10. It shows the hope that we have, even for those who do such terrible things. “God loved the whole world Read John 3:16 & 17. We have to forgive and love them, too. We don’t know what caused them to do such things.

Oh Lord, let us learn a lesson from these terrible things that are happening and all the young blood that has been lost. Let us all turn back to God and give Him His rightful Lord ship over us all.

May the friends and families of the victims of hate once more know your comfort and peace. Let them draw closer to you.

Stop the threats and actual killings Lord. I pray In the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

This has been written quite awhile ago but it still stands. Much more can be added to this.
