Billy Graham thinks fundamentalists are intolerant, praises the pope

Billy Graham is a man who has been greatly used by God, and yet religious success is no guarantee of Christian integrity.

If Billy Graham is right, why doesn’t he preach Roman Catholic doctrines in his crusades and just come out and tell the Protestants and evangelicals they are wrong?

Answer: that too would limit his audience. He wants to be spoken well of by all men.

Want more proof? Here he is again saying how comfortable he is with Roman Catholics and even avoiding saying he has any problems with Mormons! This all is a good warning to everyone who has ever been used by God. You can fall.

What do YOU think?

why is everyone so caught up with judging everyone that is well known? e.g. t.d jakes, billy graham etc. everyone makes mistakes and no one will ever please God or people 100% with the things he/she says or does. everyone has their own opinion. when will every one realise that only God is perfect and will always do the right thing? instead of discussing others, focus on yourself and try to do what is right in the eyes of God whilst trying to work out your own salvation. im not saying to be selfish and forget about others – they too need to know the truth. quit trying to show who is doing what wrong and do the right yourselves so that you can be a living example. David, Saul, Moses etc etc etc all did wrong in the Bible. they were great men of God but yet they erred! doesnt that teach you people anything? or is it jealousy that makes us wana pin point others’ errors? Jesus said he who is without sin cast the first stone. Remember that!

Those who choose to be Shepherds of God’s flock will be held to greater accountablility than you or I for their sins. God will punish them greatly if they lead people astray with their teaching or ungoldy way of living. Jesus warned us that FALSE TEACHERS & PROPHETS would come.

Jesus was the TRUSTWORTHY SHEPHERD unlike some teachers and preachers of today. All new Believers are referred to as little children until the grow in spiritual maturity. Here Jesus is using a child to demonstrate this and warns against men/women leading spiritual babies/children astray.

MT 18:2 He called a little child and had him stand among them. 3 And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

MT 18:5 “And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. 6 But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

MT 18:7 “Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! 8 If your hand or your foot causes you to sin cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.

MT 18:10 “See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

MT 18:12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.

The Apostle Paul instructs Timothy to make sure those who want to teach or preach to be Shpeherds of God’s flock that these men be of good character. God cares about what a teacher or preacher does, says and what kind of reputation he has. You can’t dimisss a Teacher/Preacher’s behaviour as “oh well everybody sins, so what”. They are to be more diligent in being of good character and obedient to God’s commandments. They have chosen to lead God’s people and with that they have greater responsibility to behave appropriately.

1TI 3:1 Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.

1TI 3:8 Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.

1TI 3:11 In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.

1TI 3:12 A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well. 13 Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.

As Christians we shouldn’t just follow anyone who teaches the Word of God blindly we are to be DISCERNING. We are to carefully examine what they teach and how they act. We are to warn others if we find a man/woman is falsely teaching God’s Word or leading God’s people into living their lives contrary to God’s commandments/law/precepts. We are encouraged to do so here by the author of the book of Jude.

JUDE 1:3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. 4 For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

JUDE 1:17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

JUDE 1:20 But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. 21 Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

JUDE 1:22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear–hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

We cannot simply excuse those who call themselves a Christian leader and yet they openly have views and opinions or live lives contrary to God’s Word. We cannot simply look the other way. There are ways of openly challenging what these Christian Teachers believe or do that is questionable. As Christians we need to be godly in how we express ourselves over these men/woman and what they did or said. I agree at times some Christians go over board and are sinning themselves if they are cursing these people or being malicious etc… However we cannot just ignore them either.

2PE 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

2PE 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7 and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men 8 (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)– 9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment. 10 This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority.
Bold and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial beings; 11 yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord. 12 But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish.

2PE 2:13 They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. 14 With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed–an accursed brood! 15 They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness. 16 But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey–a beast without speech–who spoke with a man’s voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

2PE 2:17 These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. 18 For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. 19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity–for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.”

God will make each False Teacher, Preacher, Prophet, Pastor, leader etc… accountable and as Jesus said:-

MT 18:7 “Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! ”

  7. ‘Angels’ will have to find another website on which to post the doctrine that one can be right with God only if one speaks in tongues, and that those who teach otherwise, even though they speak with tongues, are the worst kind of reprobates. That is evident from the last post made by Angels, which I have unpublished.

My points have not been addressed at all in the posts by ‘Angels’, I would not be surprised if ‘Angels’ simply was using this site as a place to cut and paste Revival centre tracts on.

This error that you must speak in tongues to be born again is very similar actually to the error of those who deny tongues altogether. Both groups falsely equate the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with being Born Again. The truth however, is that just as in the Bible these things did not always happen together, so today these experiences often happen at different times. It is more common today, because people often remain uninstructed concerning the possibility of speaking in other tongues until later in their walk with God.

I only have limited time and resources, and I reserve the right to choose the battles I want to fight on this website. It is now time for ‘Angels’ and I to part ways.

    • Angels is WRONG and seems to be full of denomonational teaching poison.I think as the admin of the site you have to close the thread,God is God,he will find another way for dear Angels to see the light of the truth.I think there are many to build up in body of christ rather than discussing with someone who just want to CONTEND not to DISCUSS and reach to conclusion about what is true. His teachings are not reliable just falsehood.I will be happy if we ends here br Michael

  8. Brother’s and sister’s, Jesus did not die so that we can have Christianity Religon! Why trust a man, if man can be wrong! If we only go to Jesus Christ the savior of the world. Don’t be lead by mans ways of worshiping. Jesus said, ” The father seek only those who worship in spirit and in truth” John 4:23. Don’t be lead by anyone telling you that traditions and ceramonies are the way of Christ, becaue it is anti-christ to worship the father in ways before christ had died! For example “water baptism”, “communion-bread and wine” Being born-again before you are baptized by Jesus in the holy Ghost. The Devil has no mercy on those who follow him. Seek the truth and you will see that Jesus has give a better way than mans doctrine. This web site keep you away from the truth. I am only here to speak truth only.
I love the brother’s and sister’s who Know where the kingdom of God is(Romans 14:17)
And that , knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed, Romans 13:11. So don’t think you are Saved! Work out your salvation! Revelation 20:11-14

I pray that Brother Michael sees the truth on what he writes on this web site. Michael don’t work in vain.

    • that this website keeps you away from the truth. I give pretty extensive biblical support for my understanding of things on this website.

Angels, who taught you what you believe? And what makes you sure that you are right and everyone else is wrong?

You sound like you might be a fairly new convert of the United Pentecostal movement, but it doesn’t sound like you are agreeing with them either. I am not sure about you. Tell us who you are. I can tell that you have misunderstood what it means to be Born Again. To find my views search for the term Born Again in the search window on this site. You cannot be Baptized in the Holy Spirit without being born again. Jesus gave the promise of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit to his disciples after he had already breathed on them and imparted the Holy Spirit to them in the born again experience. (John 20:22).

      • “Do not marvel that I said to you, Ye must be born again.” John 3:7
“Ye must be born again.” Listen to those words of our Lord Jesus. “Ye must be born again.” Tell it to sinful men as they struggle in their bondage and try to rise to better things. Proclaim the message to those who are proud of their achievments and who trust in their own strength. “Ye must be born again!”

Michael, Niocodemus, one of Israel’s elders, was greatly puzzled by our lord’s words. When Jesus set before him the necessity of being born again, Nicodemus asked, “How can these thing be?” This question many have asked, but there is a mystery concerning the New Birth which finite minds cannot solve. There are some things that men obtain only by the obedinece of faith.

Jesus acknowledged the mystery of the New Birth when he described it to Nicodemus: ” The wind Blows wherever it will, and you Hear its sound, but you do not know where it is coming from, nor where it is going. It is this way with EVERY Person born of the Spirit.” Jn 3:8

“The sound of the wind” is the voice of the spirit. When Jesus said that the sound of the wind accompanies every new birth, he was explaining a spiritual truth. In reminding Nicodemus that winds produce sounds, Jesus was saying that ” every one who is born of the spirit” is moved by the Spirit to speak (in tongues) when it happens.

MICHAEL, do you know when Jesus’ disciples received an experience such as Jesus described to Nicodemus? At no time during Jesus’ earthly ministry did His discioples receive such an experience. Then, when did they receive it? Keep his words “the wind blows wherever it will” in mind as you read from Acts 2:2-4 ” and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty WIND, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the holy Ghost and began to Speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” This experience, which the disciples received on Pentecost morning, fulfills the description of the New Birth that Jesus gave to Nicodemus. Clearly, the disciples were born again in the second chapter of Acts.

Michael, in this covenant, especially, we live by the Word of God, not by the word of man. Man’s own “Sound”, that is his own confession of faith, bears no weight in heaven because men can be wrong. Only the witness of the Spirit is always true. As the apostle John pointed out, “It is the Spirt that bears witness because the Spirit is truth.” 1Jn 5:6 Paul expressed the same truth in these words: ” The Spirit itself bears witness with our Spirit, that we are the children of God” Romans 8:16.

        • If your argument is normative, then there needs to be a literal rushing mighty wind in each case where a person is born again. This did not even happen in any other case mentioned in the Book of Acts, apart from the day of pentecost.

But if the presence of a literal rushing mighty wind is not required for being born again, then what is? Clearly, to be born again is to be born of the Spirit. When does the Holy Spirit come? Peter talked about the Holy Spirit, “whom God has given to those who obey Him” (Acts 5:32).It is when a man first genuinely surrenders to Christ that the Holy Spirit comes into him and He is born again. It is NOT when he has a pentecostal enduement of power. That comes later in many but not all cases.

When did the disciples first receive the Holy Spirit in some sense? Was it on the Day of Pentecost? No.

Peter answers the question of when he was born again in the following verse:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3)

Note, not through the Day of Pentecost, but through the resurrection! And it was after the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, in John 20:22, that Jesus said:

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:22)

This is where the disciples were born of the Spirit through the resurrection of the dead.

In a similar way, there are two different impartations of the Holy Spirit that are important for people. It is important NOT to confuse the being born again with the enduement of power, which can come later. Those who fail to observe this important distinction end up either denying the enduement of power, or denying the salvation of those who do not have the enduement of power for service. Both serious mistakes.

          • Michael you are very full of many different doctrines.

Please notice that both these apostles (Speaking in tongues) as the divinely appointed sign that we have received the Spirit of God. It is God’s peculiar way of declaring one to be His child. It is the voice of “Him who speaks from heaven”, a voice we must not refuse (Heb. 12:25). It is the sound of the ever-moving wind of God.

No man knows another’s heart; therefore, the testimony of God’s Spirit is the only reliable testimony of true conversion. When the first Gentiles were born again, Peter described it ot his fellow apostles: “Men and brothers…. God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the gospel and belive. “And God who knows the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as He did unto us” (Acts 15:7-8). And what witness did God give so that Peter and his companions would know that those Gentiles were Born Again? We are told, ” They heard them speak with tongues and mangify God.”

Speaking in tongues when we receive the holy Ghost makes it possible for unbelivers to know know who has received God’s Spirit. Because many people claim to be of God, those who are seeking God can become confused; therefore, “tongues are for a sign,” Paul affirmed, “to them that believe not” (1Cor.14:22). How the love of God is revealed in THis! He has given a sign for those outside His kingdom who want to be born again!

At the last supper, Jesus described the spiritual condition of those who followed him but had not yet received the Spirit: “When a woman gives birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come. But when the child is born, she no longer remembers the suffering because a man is born into the world. Therefore, you also now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one takes from you.” (Jn 16:21-22) By comparing his disciples’ spiritual condition with a woman in the pangs of childbirth, Jesus was telling them that the hour was near. The disciples had been conceived by the hearts, and now they were no longer of the world (Jn 17:14); at the same time, they were not “in christ” (Jn 17:21). They were “clean under the Law(Jn 15:3), but they were not yet sanctified (Jn 17:17,19). As much as their lives had been made better by following Jesus, their greatest transformation, the New Birth, was yet to come.

            Conception is not Birth
Nature itself teaches us that no birth can occur without a seed first being sown. This is true whether one is speaking naturally or spiritually. Nowhere is there a birth without the sowing of a seed.Spiritually, “the seed is the word of God” (Luke 8-11). One must receive this seed in order for the process of New Birth to begin. Nature also teaches us that relativelyh few of the seeds sown actually produce life, and that even fewer mature and bear fruit. According to jesus, only a small portion of the seeds of the kingdom of god that are sown into human hearts actually sprout, or produce righteousness in the life. Sometimes, he said when one hears the Word (Seed), “the wicked one catches away that wich was sown in his Heart” (Mat13:19). The word of God was sown into the hearts of many thousands during Jesus’ earthly ministry, yet only about one hundred twenty followers continued in his Word and were born aganin at the first outpouring of the spirit on the day of Pentecost.
Michael many mistake the receiving of the Seed to be the New Birth. You think that receiving the Word of God an being convicted of sin is the same as being Born Again? But cessation from evil, good as thatis, is NOT the New Birth. Repentance does not was away sins; sins are washed away only when the Spirit Baptizes us inot the body of Christ(1Cor. 12:13; Act 22: 16).
The Samaritans, for one example, glady received the Word that Philip preached (Act 8:5-8); still, the washing away of their sins was not accomplished until later, after news of Philip’s preahing reached Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of God, They sent unto them Peter and John , who when were come, prayed for them, that they might receive the holy Ghost. (For as yet it had fallen upon none of them…)Then , laid they; their hands on them, and thy received the holy Ghost” (Act 8:14-17). As the Samaritans’ experience demonstrates, being convicted of sin and turning from it is only the first step toward the New Birth.
One must receive the baptism of the Spirit, and when he does, God will give the sign!
Tragically, many fail to continue in the Word after being convicted by it. Consenquently, they never recive the baptism of the holy Ghost; they are never born again. Such people, and there are millinons of them in Christianity around the world, must be warned that incomplete surrender is no better than none at all. God gives His Spirit only to those who obey Him (Act 5:32); therefore, our first priority must be to know God’s will and to do it, not only to receive the baptism of christ, but to obtain the promised Salvation at the end of the way. “Let no man deceive you by any means”, my friend; no one will be saved without receiving the holy Ghost and then obeying it (1Peter 3:21; Mk 16:16; Romans 8:14)
Regardles of one’s reputation among men, he has no part in the kingdom of God without the Holy Ghost. Pual said, “If any man has not the Spirt of Christ, he is none of His(Rom 8:9)

          • It is you who have strange doctrines. Doctrines which no one held until some time in the 20th century. You can say that the apostles taught this, but you can’t prove it from Scripture. I say that there is no evidence that they did.

You are the one reading the term “Born again” into the text below. It simply is not there.

Act 10:45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
Act 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered,
Act 10:47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”

This means exactly what it says: it means that the Gentiles received the Holy Spirit in the same way that Peter and the others did on the Day of Pentecost. They got baptized in the Holy Spirit in the same way as the apostles did, and in this case I believe it happened when they were born again. God can and sometimes does do that. It doesn’t mean, nor does it say, that you have to speak in tongues to be born again.

Philip baptized people in Acts 8 before they got the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Are you advocating the baptizing of people who are not born again also?

The tragedy is not that people receive a seed but fail to get born again through speaking in tongues. The tragedy is that many people who do speak in tongues are ignorant of the teaching of Scriptures and condemn all those who do not belong to their narrow Revival Centre type groups.

I speak in tongues myself, probably much more than you, but I will never say that tongues is necessary for salvation.
You are simply assuming your doctrine to be true and then fitting the text into it.

I will tell you something else: plenty of practitioners of other religions who speak in tongues, and none of them are born again of the Spirit. Furthermore, there are plenty of backsliders who can still speak in tongues. So speaking in tongues proves nothing in respect of being right with God. It would only be a confirming sign in the case of someone who had sufficient spiritual discernment to know that it was from God. And as such, it would not even be proof that a person had fully repented.

          • But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.” (Jn.15:26)
In our text, it is said that the Comforter himself would testify when he came. Indeed, in Acts 2, when the Comforter came, he testified through the disciples of the Lord, just as Jesus had promised. Jesus had also told them that “ye also shall bear witness”, and this was demonstrated perfectly at Pentecost, in Acts 2. After the Comforter had testified in tongues through Peter and the other disciples, Peter stood up and in his own tongue gave a wonderful, convincing testimony which, with the Spirit’s testimony, brought about three thousand souls to Christ. It took the testimony of both the Comforter and Peter to accomplish this remarkable change in so many lives; and I am persuaded that the same two witnesses, God’s and man’s, will be required to bring about the long-awaited, end-time revival spoken of by the prophets.
We are informed that “two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor” (Eccl. 4:9). Moreover, under Moses’s Law, no one was condemned without the testimony of at least two witnesses. Jesus, referring to this rule, said, “It is also written in your Law that the testimony of two men is true.” Then he continued, “I am one that beareth witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me” (Jn.8:17-18). Yes, the Father bore witness of the Son many times, especially at his baptism by John in the Jordan River, when the Spirit descended as a dove upon Jesus and a voice from heaven cried, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Friend, do you have this second testimony from God?
The Spirit’s witness, the Comforter’s Testimony, sets God’s way of salvation apart from all religions on earth, for no other religion bears God’s mark of approval: the Spirit’s testimony. Only God’s is a two-testimony religion. Throughout history, men from every culture have claimed to belong to God, but man’s testimony alone is insufficient and untrustworthy. It is the second testimony which confirms God’s covenant.
Paul wrote (Rom.8:16), “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” These are the two witnesses, my reader: God’s Spirit and yours. I know that you have one of them, but what about the one that confirms the covenant, the Comforter’s testimony? In other words, did the Spirit of God testify through you in tongues when it entered? Without this witness from God, man’s testimony, being alone, carries no weight at all in heaven. No one’s claim to be born again is valid until he is baptized with the holy Ghost and speaks in tongues, for the baptism of the Spirit, first given on the day of Pentecost to Jesus’s disciples, is the new birth experience (Rom.6:3; 1Cor.12:13; Gal.3:27).
            Have Tongues Ceased?
Despite the testimonies of multitudes of believers, many Christian scholars and ministers deny the continued existence of the Comforter’s Testimony. While admitting that the earliest disciples spoke in tongues, these teachers hold that tongues have ceased, though they cannot say who did away with them. The Scriptures, however, give no indication of the withdrawal of the blessings Christ bestowed. Long after the initial outpouring of the holy Ghost in Acts 2, Paul and the saints were speaking in tongues and thanking God for it (1Cor.14:18). Gentiles also received the holy Ghost and spoke in tongues (Acts 10:44-46), as did disciples at Ephesus (Acts 19:1-6). And remember, Paul strictly warned the saints that if any man, or even an angel, came preaching any other gospel than that which he preached, “let him be accursed” (Gal.1:8-9). If anyone has caused speaking in tongues to cease, it is Christian minster who teaches people against it, not Jesus, who purchased that blessing with his blood.
Many Christian ministers teach that speaking in tongues is not for us today, but God knows their hearts. In fact, it is precisely because God knows their hearts that they have not been given His Spirit and do not speak in tongues. Peter said that “God gives the holy Ghost to all those who obey Him” (Acts 5:32). Therefore, we know that those who have not received the holy Ghost have not obeyed God, though they certainly may do so; and we pray that they will.
Some Christian ministers, with foolish boldness, even dare to teach that speaking in tongues is a work of the devil! Oh, how I fear for such men! They may be sealing their eternal destination. Jesus said, “All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme. But he that shall blaspheme against the holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation” (Mk.3:28-29). The disciples who were first filled with the holy Spirit were mocked and accused of being drunk (Acts 2:13), and ignorant men at times still mock Spirit-filled people. Paul knew that some, “unlearned” in the things of God, upon hearing the saints speak in tongues would call the saints insane (1Cor.14:23); but Paul also knew that the saints were in fact “giving thanks well”.
The gift of God’s holy Spirit, and the miraculous sign it brings with it, came to us at a very great cost. It cost God the sending of His beloved Son from the perfection of his heavenly home to an earth steeped in heartache, sorrow, disease, sin, and death. It cost the Savior inexpressible anguish and ignominious death on Calvary’s cross. Other miraculous wonders preceded the death of Christ Jesus, but not the sign of the covenant: the Comforter’s Testimony. Can you imagine Jesus, after coming to this sinful world and giving his life to complete God’s plan of salvation, allowing someone to change His plan, or to do away with part of it? Nor has he ever returned to alter the way he made for us. No, my friend, this New Covenant is eternal and unchangeable. Jesus declared, “My words shall never pass away.” We must go God’s way, for “he that climbeth in some other way is a thief and a robber.” Upon reading Paul’s words, “tongues are for a sign to unbelievers” (1Cor. 14:22), one should ask, “A sign of what?” The obvious answer is that this heavenly utterance is a sign intended by a loving God to guide sinners to the right way.
After the Lord ascended, his disciples went forth with miraculous signs attending their message. Jesus had told them to teach others “whatsoever I have commanded you.” And what had he commanded them? He commanded them to preach the gospel, saying, “These signs shall follow them that believe. In my name shall they cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents. And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mk.16:17-18). Yes, speaking in tongues is one of the signs of the true body of Christ. Because Jesus’s words here clearly show the difference between the true family of God and the many churches of Christianity, which are not of God, Christian scholars have made great efforts to discredit these verses; but every faithful child of God knows that these words are from Jesus.
Not knowing what the Comforter’s Testimony is, misguided disciples of Jesus, more full of confidence than of knowledge, often refer to their happy feelings as proof that they possess the Spirit. Eventually, however, such people, if sincere, must admit that this witness is an unreliable one. It will fail them in time of greatest need. Now, while in favor with men, while in health, while financially secure, while surrounded with friends, they feel blessed; but later, when those conditions are reversed, they will feel unhappy. They will lose what they now suppose to be the Comforter’s Testimony. Others point to “what the Scriptures say” as proof of their having the Spirit; but, friend, the Bible has never said anything. It is a book. Everything anybody has ever received from the Bible he has read, and whether or not someone understands what he has read is the issue we are discussing.
Some, in the face of Jesus’s declaration, “When the Comforter is come . . . he shall testify of me” (Jn.15: 26), think that this testimony of the Comforter is their peace of mind; but when they see many who claim no religion at all apparently having the same peace of mind, their concept of the Comforter’s Testimony proves insufficient to sustain their faith, or to give them trustworthy assurance. When the dark hour comes, they, too, must face defeat and surrender their claims as being false and satanic. But what joy, peace, and righteousness come to those who have the witness of God – to those who have the real holy Ghost and who have learned to walk in it!
Jesus promised this divine witness to his followers and died that they might have it; so “why should it be thought a thing incredible with you” that God should still be testifying today through those who yield themselves to His will and power?
“When the Comforter is come . . . he shall testify of me. And ye also shall bear witness. . .” (Jn.15: 26). These are the two witnesses: God’s Spirit and yours. Are you among the many who can say only with their voice, “I am born again”? Or do you have the second Witness that you are born of God? Please don’t allow a man with nothing but a doctrine to steal your hope of eternal life. Many Christians trust that they are being led rightly, when they are actually being carried by Satan’s deception into temptations and pits of evil. Jesus, who loves you, offers you life.
On Pentecost morning, the first group of disciples were born again, and the body of Christ came into existence. Christ is offering to you now your own pentecost experience, your own new birth into the kingdom of God, a kingdom into which no man can take you, and out of which no man can cast you. The only thing men can do is either to dissuade you or encourage you to pursue the thing you need most: the baptism Jesus gives, with the evidence which always accompanies it: THE COMFORTER’S TESTIMONY.

          • No where does the Bible say that the way the Spirit of God tells us we are children of God is by making us talk in tongues.

No where did Jesus say, “By their unknown tongues you will know them”. But rather, “By their fruit you will know them”.

In one of your posts you say that we should go by feelings, not by faith, and in this one you say that the feeling of peace and happiness you think you have from God doesn’t really mean anything unless you speak in tongues – that it is just based on circumstances, and it will fail when things get tough. Try telling these things to people who have joyfully endured torture for Christ, people who DO NOT speak in tongues.

There are more things in heaven and earth, my dear Angels, than are dreamed of in your philosophy.

I am getting ready to close this thread.

Gee, are you writing in tongues as well? Do you really expect us to believe that anyone who won’t even check his spelling, taking a few moments to proof read what you are presenting as absolute truth, has bothered to really check out his doctrine? Sorry, but I could not concentrate on your message for all the obvious mistakes. It was hard to take you seriously…an honest observation. Having been shown in the dictionary that there are two definitions for born… be concieved in the womb and 2. to be born out of the womb into to world. As a woman who has felt the conception of 3 of my 4 children in utero and pushed them out into the world,I found it interesting to note that you should be arguing over such an issue. You do not take into account the growth of the child in the womb as a valid and ness. time in every believers life, preparing them for when they go through the rigorous transition contractions and move through the narrow opening( as in narrow is the way that leads to salvation) Anyone who has been changed and transformed in their soul by the washing of the water of the Word knows that we are made like Him moment by moment as He reveals to us His way vs. ours. You can be filled with the Holy Spirit w/the evidence of speaking in tongues(there are also diversities of tongues)and still need deep inner healing in your soul so that you can begin to rightly divide between soul and spirit.I am asking the Lord why you have such a need to deny entry into His Kingdom to those who are his disciples? Not that it matters what you say particularly…because there is no power except to decieve in these concepts . This mighty wind etc. criteria for being born again of the Spirit you insist upon reminds me of the Pharisees and Sadducees whose leaven we were warned about…Is this something that happened to you? Do you honestly believe it has to be everyone’s experiance?I also saw you straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel. As far as our confession by faith in what He has told us through His distinct word…He who believes upon me is not judged… If we do not confess Him before men on earth He will not confess us..We overcome the accuser of the brethren by the 1. Blood of the Lamb 2.the word of our testimony.(which is the confession of our faith …what He has done for us ,in us and through us for others)He is merciful and has not made it so complicated as you’d try to insist…It is His Divine Law of Love and Liberty and only this Law that we will be held accountable for. Come now,Let us reason together you and I,though your sins be as scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.He is the propitiation for our sins, not some complicated ,intellectually tangled , elitist hoop jumping imagined doctrine that saves us.You have moved too far away from the cross in this my friend.Perhaps you might consider being willing to be wrong, that you might know the truth…It’s a humility thing…The Holy Spirit that lives in me does not bear witness to what you are professing as the Gospel of Christ Jesus in regards to salvation…Just reporting in….In Him forever

          • Thank God for the Topic that Michael Posted about Graham.Thank God also for Angels Who participate to give what he has. Before I go On I would like to tell you Angels that you are WRONG.Yes the gift of Holy Ghost is for Believers. The Only thing necessary for salvation is believing in the work Jesus did at the cross,ONLY THAT! read more John 3:14-16 we read

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”Eternal Life is ONLY in believing work of Jesus at the Cross NOTHING ELSE!

            Romans 10:9-11 SAYS:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed”

So Angels its Not until Wind Blows or Speak in Tongues means You are Born Again.By the way who taught you that?I beseech you by the love of Christ Tell Him/her these Good News that ONLY HE/SHE NEEDS TO BELIEVE CHRIST TO RUN AWAY FROM EVERLASTING DAMNATION

          • The scriptures exhort the saints to “examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves” (2Cor.13:5). Take this quiz to see if many of the commonly accepted doctrines have “poisoned” your understanding of God’s truths.
(Circle T=True, F=False, based on what you have been taught)

            1) A person who is born again is already saved. (T, F)
            2) Every born again person ought to be baptized. (T, F)
            3) Jesus taught that man no longer should fear a loving God. (T, F)
4)The Bible tells us to go by faith and not our “feelings”. (T, F)
            5) The devil creates bad things for us because he hates us. (T, F)
            6) Doing good works has nothing to do with our salvation. (T, F)
            7) When a person becomes a Christian, God gives them the Holy Spirit. (T, F)
            8) The Bible is the “infallible word of God”. (T, F)
            1) FALSE. Salvation is the “hope” of the saints, to which Paul said we should draw nearer to every day (Rom.13:11). Peter also expressed this “hope” of being saved in the future (Acts 15:11). It is extremely important to note that no apostle ever claimed to have “gotten saved”. Nor did any apostle ever tell anyone to “come get saved”. This “getting saved” doctrine is a 20th century phenomenon, and God never sent any man to tell any of God’s people that they are already “saved”. Jesus will bring salvation with him when he comes (1Pet.1:5), and it will only be given to those who are found worthy, and who “endure to the end” (Mat.10:22).
            2) FALSE. Every born again person is already baptized, because it is the baptism of the holy Ghost which makes one born again! John’s water baptism was one of faith and repentence, pointing to a better baptism from the one to come after him (Luke 3:16). John’s baptism has faded away as he himself stated it would: “he must increase, and I must decrease”. Now God recognizes only one baptism, the one given by Jesus. Have you received it? Water baptism is not a “demonstration of faith” as some say, but is a demonstration of “unbelief”, for only the baptism administered by Jesus can benefit the soul, save from sin, and result from obedience. All who obey God receive the baptism of the holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 5:32). The holy Ghost baptism is the baptism that Jesus purchased with his blood, which cleanses and saves from sin (1Pet.3:21), and which puts us in the body of Christ (Rom 6:3; 1Cor.12:13). Any baptism which does NOT come from heaven is now one without significance (which has “faded away”), and is merely a “tradition” of men; for Jesus and God only practice ONE baptism!
            3) FALSE. Jesus taught men to fear God as he himself did! “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forwarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him” (Luke 12:4-5). Truly loving God is fearing God enough to trust Him alone to save you: “[Jesus] who in the says of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; though he were a son, yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered (Heb.5:7-8). Every person in the Bible that stood in the presence of God or his son Jesus, or even before angels, fell trembling with fear. When men fear God they will truly come to know Him, for the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom!
            4) FALSE. Most times, your feelings are what God uses to guide you into truth. Paul wrote: “The kingdom of God is . . . righteousness, peace, and joy (Rom.14:17). Two of the basic elements of the kingdom of God are feelings (peace and joy) so pay attention to them! Here’s one example: when a person feels doubt about whether they are “already saved”, ministers have been trained to tell them not to go by their feelings. God is showing a sincere heart the truth (that they can only be saved in the end – see answer #1 above), but in order to accept that minister’s false doctrine, one has to go against what they are feeling inside. If you have received the Spirit of God (evidenced by speaking with other tongues when it comes in), you have a “teacher” and a “counsellor” within. The Spirit will teach you how to rightly respond to the feelings you have. That is learning to “walk in the Spirit”. Nowhere in the scriptures do we read: “don’t go by your feelings”!
            5) FALSE. God is God of all. . .good and bad! After the fall of man, GOD cursed the serpent and the ground. Because of man’s evil on earth, GOD sent the flood. When Israel sinned against the Lord, GOD sent plagues and judgments. A careful study of the scriptures will show that it is GOD, not the devil, who corrects us with “evil”. Whom the Lord loves, He chastens (Heb.12:5-11). One reason men teach that God send good things, and the devil sends bad things, is that Satan wants you to fear him, and NOT God! Blaming Satan for “evil” is actually a medeival Catholic superstition which many in the congregation continue to cling to. Child of God, know that the devil can afflict nobody without GOD’S permission. So fear GOD, and God alone!
            6) FALSE. In the light of all that the Bible has to say about salvation, only the disobedient, evil, foolish, or deceived believe that our “works” have nothing to do with being saved in the end. Almost every Biblical reference to the final judgment says that our “works” (our moral deeds in this life) will have EVERYTHING to do with where we spend eternity! “The hour is coming…in the which all that are in the graves shall hear [Jesus’] voice, and shall come forth. They that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation” (John 5:28-29). Jesus and the apostles taught that only those who “do the will of the Father” will enter into the kingdom of heaven. The works that now have nothing to do with salvation are only the ceremonial works of the law of Moses. When Paul penned the often quoted verse: “For by grace are ye saved…and not by works” (Eph.2:8-9), one must refer to his same teachings in Romans 3:28 and Galatians 2:16 to see what kind of works Paul was teaching would not save! Nobody is “justified” without doing good works! (James 2:24)
            7) FALSE. God gives His Spirit to whomsoever He will. Being a Christian has nothing to do with it. Becoming a Christian is something people decide to do because they have been persuaded to believe that doing this will please God. But receiving the holy Spirit is something God does, and it can happen inside or outside of Christianity! Since becoming a Christian does not give one the Spirit, the question must be asked, “is Christianity necessary?” We have found that being a part of Christianity will most often hinder a person from receiving the Spirit, or prevent them from walking in the Spirit after receiving it. God has given a sign for every unbeliever (and the body of Christ) to know when God’s Spirit has truly come in, and that sign is “stammering lips and other tongues”: “Wherefore, tongues are for a sign” (1Cor.14:21-22). Since Christianity denies the necessity of the Spirit’s confession that Jesus has come into a person’s “flesh” (1Jo.4:1-6), the doctrines of Christianity are therefor “antichrist”. It is possible for a person to be a Christian and NOT actually be born again. But those who have the holy Ghost are the ones whose Lord truly is Jesus: “No man can say that Jesus is Lord but by the holy Ghost” (1Cor.12:3).
            8) FALSE. The “Word of God” is what God says, just as your word is what you say. The Word of God existed before the Bible, and will exist after every Bible is burned up with this world. We see in the Bible the phrase: “the Word of God came to the prophets saying”, because the Word of God speaks. We never hear of anyone “reading” the Word of God. The Word of God is the life giving light, guidance, and leading which comes through the Spirit of God. For that reason the Spirit is called the “Word of God” (Eph.6:17). The Bible is not the Word of God for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life. Men today teach the Bible is the Word of God because the true Word of God has not come to them. They can claim to have the Word of God if it is a book, instead of receiving the true Word of God from God’s own mouth. We need the true Word of God today!
Friend, how did YOU do on this test? When we receive “doctrines and traditions” as truth, it is like “poison”. It destroys us slowly, but surely nevertheless. God is calling His people to “come out” of every false way and into the “Spirit of truth”. It is the love

  9. We can’t really know this for sure. One day every secret thing about everyone will come out. I know that one man wrote a book about how he was promoted the 33rd degree Freemasonry and then left it. He says that an internationally known evangelist was present at his induction into the 33rd degree. I read that book. I heard a report that he had to agree to remove Billy Graham’s name in order to get the book published.

We don’t know for sure which things are and are not true about the world of darkness, the shadowy world of hidden things done in secret by men who desire power and influence above all. We cannot tell if these reports are true or not, unless God reveals it supernaturally. But when you consider that most American presidents have had strong connections with Freemasonry, and Billy Graham has been a close friend to so many of them, and other top people in the New World Order system, it would not be surprising if he was one of them. Even so, we don’t know. We don’t really need to know, unless we like to follow men.

What we DO KNOW from what Dr Graham says OPENLY is enough to be concerned. Its a tragedy. If Graham is both correct and pleasing to God, and the Jesuits preach the same gospel as he does – as he says, I think we should all hurry up and join the Roman Catholic church. The only question I have is: why didn’t Billy Graham join the R.C. church himself? Was he given a special dispensation by his friend, the pope?

  10. pearlofgreatprice says:

I have also read that he is a Mason (involved with the cult of Freemasonry) and that he attends meetings regularly but keeps it on the downlow. God Pity Him if he is. That is witchcraft.

    • I was in the same research and simply one of thing i encountered are here:,I recommend christians to look Only at JESUS not ANY ministry or PREACHER or anything ONLY JESUS.Every Preacher that is 100% Compatible with JESUS teaching is whom we are to listen to AS LONG AS IS STILL WITH JESUS.Its time for christians to wake up and have their stand on the word of God instead of waiting for Poisoned food from Tele evangelists,False prophets, even Illuminati (sounds terrible). If we, who knows truth will sleep,What about our rewards we’ll receive when Jesus comes back?
