August 25th,10am My Water Baptism

My friends and I met at a home church whereby a small pool in the backyard with rose petals was prepared.

After our greetings to one another, we gathered around the pool.  We spoke of our God and the meaning of this day. Then I stepped into the pool and I was dunked in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  It was over in seconds but I will remember the experience forever.

Words were given, scripture was read.  I was moved.  The simple act of being immersed in water meant so much – more than I realised.  It was a sweet day.

How do I feel now – 2 days later.

I have an immense feeling of peace.   Deep peace and joy.

I feel cleansed.  My sins have been washed away. I belong to Christ.  I knew this before but it is at a deeper level of understanding.

In my mind I saw a medal chain and it was thicken in a second – the links doubled in thickness and strength.  My faith, my love, my union with our Lord and Saviour has been reinforced.

My relationship with God before was like being in a defacto relationship but now I feel married.   I have a sense of commitment and my resolve to stay in this relationship has been strengthened and I feel more secure and dedicated to my walk.  I feel closer to Jesus.

Amen and Glory to God.

“And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” Acts 22:16
