Christian Fellowship and the Church of Jesus Christ

When two or three people led together by the Holy Spirit gather together in Jesus' name, He promises to be there. When we fellowship in Jesus' name, when we pray together in His name, when we really recognize Him and hear Him and do what He wants, then we have an authentic church, capable of exercising divine authority in a situation.

The Church is described by various metaphors, such as the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, the Temple of God, the Army of God and more. The articles in this category delve more into the nature and operation of the church of Jesus Christ as it was meant to be, and can be, if we will listen.

Our overseas brothers and sisters in the Christian family

Our overseas brothers and sisters in the Christian family
Let us always include them in our thoughts, prayers, and fastings
By C. Marie, author of The Holy Spirit and Christian Testimonies

Hatred in others outside of the Christian family, who deeply despise Christians, lead them to obsessively seek to tamper with the peace, security, health, and lives of the children of God who resides in their individual countries. They are sanctified sheep in the midst of vicious wolves, in lands where favor goes towards the wolves.

Churches using Carnal Means to Attract and Retain Carnal People while True Sheep Starve

Paul Washer tells it like it is in this short clip. He is saying that there are true sheep of God in most large churches but in order to please the large unconverted crowd in the church, the pastors will not give true sheep what they need. Instead they feed the goats what pleases them.

Video Bible Study – What if I Don’t Like Being with Christians? 1 John 2:9-11

1Jn 2:9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.
1Jn 2:10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
1Jn 2:11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Video Bible Study on The New Commandment – Walk in the Jesus Kind of Love

To love one another as Jesus loved us is the most important commandment. It is only possible if we live through the power of the Holy Spirit and renew our minds with the Word of God.

Pet Parrots or Eagle Christians?

(Extracted from "I've got You Covered" – by Stuart Gramenz – pg 74,75)

Some church goers have felt more like pet parrots than eagles. As we know, the owners of pet parrots gain great pleasure out of hand-feeding them and showing them to others. As a result of being caged, they are confined in their activities and, because they can't enjoy the natural pleasure of flying, other things are placed in a cage to keep them amused. They are also trained to talk, but can only repeat what their owner teaches them to say.

Anglicans and Roman Catholics are planning for unity

Roman Catholic and Anglican theologians have been working on documents expressing issues they face in trying to work out how to bring their organsations into what they call “full communion”. One such document, called “The Gift of Authority” basically emphasises that this unity will be under the Pope of Rome. I quote from the document below:

52. The Commission is of the view that we have deepened and extended our agreement on:

What God Expects from Pastors – part 2

I draw your attention to the passage in Ezekiel 34:1-6

What God Expects from Pastors – part 1

Are you called to be a shepherd of
God’s people?
(The word pastor is just another word for shepherd).
The ministry of being a shepherd to God’s people is an extremely
responsible one. It is actually a very important job and if you are
going to do it YOU JUST CAN’T TAKE IT LIGHTLY.

It is not Desirable (for Some) to Leave the Word of God and Serve Tables

Something struck me as I was reading the Scriptures today. In Acts
6:2-4 it says:

Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said,
“It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and
serve tables.
Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven
men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we
may appoint over this business;
but we will give ourselves
continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
