Pride

Hi
I am new to this site. I have a problem with pride and lack of humility. It is affecting my relationship with my daughter, husband and the rest of my family. I keep falling in to the same trap of cold shouldering and making them feel bad when I am confronted with my problems. I don’t want to lose them, but I keep pushing them away. My Dad did the same to me and my family – still does. I know I need to humble myself and give it to Jesus, and when I do things go alright until the next bump in the road. I need your prayers and advice.

TAKE ONE BABY STEP

Honest! I was a little girl once and we played all kinds of silly games. I mentioned a game to a six year old girl today and she looked at me like I was crazy. I asked what she would be doing when she got out of school. Nothing! It’s boring. I played games but I got bored, too. I wanted something more. I wanted excitement.

ANOTHER GOSPEL

II Corinthians 11:3-4 “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety (very skillful in deceit), so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, who you have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him.” And II Corinthians
!3-15 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

Pain, pressure, perplexity, setbacks and death in ministry

My wife and I were just considering a passage of Scripture today from 2 Corinthians 4:8-11:

“We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed – always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always being delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.”

I am aware that God has made promises to His children. God has promised many good things.

Please Pray for my illness.

I have an ailment that at time appears to be leaving me but does not. Right now I am at one of my better times and I am hoping that with your prayers I could be freed finally. I understant that there are strength in numbers. I would much appreciate it. God Bless You All.

Greatly Moved

For a long time I’ve wanted to return to the church and I wanted to be moved much like those I would see at a religious temple near my home. I would go there and I would see people singing, hands in the air, speaking in tongues and pacing up and down the isle with their petitions. I must say then, it was merely entertainment because I come from a Catholic/Baptist background. My father is Baptist but stopped attending church years ago and after he remarried, my step mother now took me and my younger brother to church (Catholic) twice weekly.

I am a Bible teacher (44 and counting) who seeks to share what I have received and to listen to what God has revealed to other teachers and believers.

I just signed up and have some questions about using the site. Would appreciate it if someone would brief me on how everything works?

Lord Bless:

COMMISSIONED TO WRITE ON THE WEB

Retirement was a big adjustment I had to make when I quit working and moved to a high rise. I never dreamed I would be back in my old home town again. The high rise was situated along the river with a beautiful park across the street from the building. I spent many hours sitting on a bench meditating and wondering how I would spend my time. When I got tired of that I walked up and down the street where I took in the beauty of the river scene.

There is no transportation to be able to go shopping or visiting anyone.

Obama tells us what faith is for

I refer to the article at http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/06/23/obama-some-religious-leaders-have-hijacked-faith/.

It writes: “Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and started being used to drive us apart.
